Why do you think nurses leave the profession?
I have been a nurse for 2 yrs only in a medsurge unit but once in a while I would contemplate on switching to adifferent job outside of nursing. However, I couldn't find any job I could land my feet on that matches my salary as an RN. I work in a county hospital where nurse work hard basically. It seems to me that now a days people are just getting sicker and sicker and are more drug seekers. There are moments when I have patients that are literally telling me how much narcotics they want for pain and how often they want it, and if they don't get it they scream and yell at your face. For this reason I feel like switching to another job, something that does not deal with sick people .I do feel unsatisfied with my job when I see patients returning to the hospital over and over again for the same reason and are not getting well but getting sicker due to being non compliant. Am I the only one feeling this way?

Its been past 2 weeks now im in training handled 3 pts on my own already but it seems to me that i couldnt think critically as well:( everytime i ask questions i get a look like---didnt you learn that in school? Eveytime i come home i would cry after a 12 hr shift in the floor. My preceptor is not really explaining things to me:/ sometimes this person does but at times would just disappear or play games when done with charting

New Grad Nurse - what to do while searching for that job?
Unesdala, your not alone I am on the same boat like you:( and i think that will be a good idea to just use up time volunteering on some hospitals

So if you finish at 265 with an easy or hard question....
Those last questions which Answers can be memorized such as nutrition, lab values, basic nursing questions are not guaranteed as above passing level which could means you failed:(

So if you finish at 265 with an easy or hard question....
If 5 atleast last questions are SATA , prioritization -who would you see first those , pharmacology questions are passing level then you would know that you passed. Base on my experienced. Some folks i have spoken that reached 265 their last questions are like nutrition topic or lab values basically the questions that answers can be memorized.:)

Advise Please How to overcome depression and anxiety?
Missy8 don't give up. I have felt the same your feeling i fail my nclex too but it not the end of the world Keep studying and set a time everyday to just study make it a goal to do Question trainer not less than 100 qs a day also make your own personal notes in hand written. Like someone said turn off anything that may interrupt your study time. When i did mines i had i turned off my cellphone all day and deactivate any of my websocial interaction. Going to the gym and have a regular routine of exercise helps your body to release endorphins that aids in coping up stressful situation. In my experienced whenever i kinda feel tired and bored in the middle of the day studying i go for a run in the track field or treadmill and sweat. It helps me cope up with stress but overall prayer to God and meditations in His words are very important key to success. Do not give up you can pass that exam.Stay focus!!!! God bless you

Failed NCLEX RN 3 times, 2012
You could also use the 4000 Qbanks a couple of the questions out for me . Also when you do your exam on the computer relax and read the questions then when it comes to choices use what kaplan live teaches. Important thing , i believe that when you are less worried during the exam it will help you relax to be able to think critically. Prayer with effort of studying does work. Dont give up cause when times you feel giving up -you just an inch away from success:) Do saunders qbanks and read the rationals make your own personal notes as well. You can do it!!!

Help...I desperately need an advice
Nursing school requires a lot of studying really:/ it might be good for you to just focus on nursing school in my opinion but i also understand that having a job is a great help in your finances. When i was in nursing school , theres so much to study and it demands more time especially if you start doing your clinical rotations.:) If part time job works for you then go for it while your in school.
-
Took the NCLEX today...i feel like i failed!
Saunders questions are quite good for their rationals and how they arrange each following questions:) don't reschedule it!!! You can do it!!!
-
Did I pass?!?!?
Go get yourself a present :) lol looks like you passed!!!!
-
Taking NCLEX in < 36 hrs
You will be fine thats a go amount of questions:) when your sitting on the actual exam pls don't start feeling scared if you came across a hard question - that only means your doing well so take time before you choose and answer and along the exam for me it kinda helped taking a deep breath once in a while:) lol
