  1. Hi there, you may go to cno website, the learning modules, go through them again regarding client nurse relation modules and read all the articles about client patient relationship. Most important you should focus on those knowledge and change part, becos it has larger percentage on the exam. SO if you improve a bit, you will get much better results, nurse client relationship is only small percentage, so it will not help much even you improve a lot. Less than twenty questions about it. If you could forward a copy if you exam results without ur name on it, I can tell you which part you should study more probably.
  2. I am happy that i passed my CrNE.
  3. Hi there, it's hard to wait for the results. I fully understand you. Especially some of the writers have started to receive their good news couple of days ago. Let's hold ourselves together and I believe we will pass this exam. I really do believe if we prepare ourselves well enough, we will have our fruitful results awaiting for all of us eventually. Sounds you have done quite a lot for the test. So stay possitive. Couple of days. Good news is coming soon. Best luck for those including myself who are waiting for our CRNE June 2012 results anxiously.
  4. I think if the passing score is 550 .that means the raw score to pass have to be 123.75~ 124 upon 180. (550/800=Y, Yx180= 123.75, so if you get 510, that means you will get 114 out of 180 questions right.) that's really a lot. I hope someone can correct me if I am wrong.
  5. Hi Pauly 05, what's the cut off raw score by the way? It's good to find some study buddies. You can share the study material bank. It also serve as motivation and good way for clarification whenever in doubt. Take some courses early and always be towards the outcome . Don't give up. I have a friend ( as well as our study buddy) who also did this as 3rd time. She just passed. I wish you the best in your study and future exam.
  6. Hi there, you may apply to Saskachewan province or those province which is cold and far, they need nurses. ontario nursing shortage is not bad, so they are picky and choosy. To my understanding, a lot of Saskachewan company will not revoke your lciences even you fail the first exam. So you can find a decent employer and learn n job while you acquiring your credentials. Good luck.
  7. Everybody need to get 550 in order to pass a CrnE test. It is a modified scale, it called scaled score. Very complicated to explain. In order to be fair for the writers from setting to setting, the final pass score must be above 550 after a few combined matter to calculate the difficulty of the test scoring on each test paper.
  8. Abnurse1,I have the same feeling here. After working more than ten years in various departments and teaching in clinical. Some of the questions I could not figure out.I am not sure those new graduates.I agree that some of the questions are difficult for me because the culture, policy difference between here and my homeland..... I had only 30 minutes left in the end of the exam. I tried to change some answers, but then I put them back to the original answers as I was not sure it was right or not. Exactly like you said, gave me another six to eight weeks to study again, I won't guarantee I will make any difference to this exam. Just hope my exam results will be better than I thought. Best wishes to all those who are waiting for their results anxiously there.
  9. Thank you and congrats Katie , I'm more than jealous to hear you get your results and pass so fast. I hope ontarions will get their pass results this week too.
  10. Skype video call conference is free. Try it. You can find more group members and save a lot of time on traveling.
  11. Hi there, how to delete some of the blog here?
  12. Hi, the test Papers are the same but in different version= different orders only. They are the completely same questions overall.
  13. Basically, those two days courses are not much of help I feel. They are too broad and too late to start,my understanding. It is like a course outline. But it is good to booste your confidence only. I heard some of us took the freshnurse company course. But I found there are a lot of questions are same as CNA prep or readiness test source. I am not sure why. Another place offers CRNE prep course is Toronto school of health. But I've heard there is some legal issues about it last time. Their course is offered over 14 weekends or weekdays (mon and fri) in Toronto, that means there are total 28 lessons. I think it will be better for an International educated nurse's CRNE prep. I have no commends on it.It is about $1200 . It was run very early every time. I think now they are starting already. Good luck for the exam.
  14. Hi , I used the primemed review online . It was two days course. One of my friend travelled to Toronto for the same classroom course. It was the same content.
  15. Hi, kheemooy,Thank you. I just want to share my great learning experience with the future writers. I know it is a hard work for this exam. Here is some of the tips for the study group hunting. You may find as many people as you can in the first few group initial meetings(8-10 is an appropriate size). Ask each of the members their experiences and strengths.Eventually from second or third meeting, some of the members will drop out as they may come in for different purposes,or due to work schedule and time and distance etc. Those who are really committed to the group study will stay back at last. During the group work process we also need to monitor for those out of norm behaviors and set some ground rules initially. I tell you the group work need a lot of effort and time commitment. But the good thing is that you can share resources and give each other psychosocial support whenever you need. Another thing for the group forming, you may have different experienced nurses in your study group, whether they have previous experiences in writing the test and some locals and some oversea if you really want to enhance your learning experiences. The group dynamic will make a huge difference contributing to your study success. Make sure the group members have the same common goal of passing the CRNE exam together ! Good luck for your future exam!
  16. Hi Everyone, while waiting for the CRNE June 2012 results, I would like to share some study tips with future test writers. Here I will share with you my study materials and methods I used. 1. Choose the correct study materials , which include:*Mosby Comprehensive review for the Canadian RN Exam(blue and orange color,2nd edit), please buy it from a local university or college book store, don't buy online especially amazon websites,in case they ship their old stock like the 1st edition to you. sucks as I chose from their online store. They gave me the 1st edition, a lot of mistakes there.luckily, I could pick it up on time. My friends said if I could pick up the mistakes from a well published book, that means I can pass my exam(I hope so).*CNA RN exam prep guide 5th edition or the 4th edition if you have also can be useful.*Mosby's prep guide for the Canadian RN exam,*Lippincott's CRNE prep guide (I like it personally as it gives you immediate feedback when you do the exam questions, and you can choose the category of the test you want to practice on * CNA Code of Ethics, cno online learning modules and compodium and competencies. Online prep course. 2. Apart from the study materials we should prepare for the CRNE, we need to plan to study 12 weeks ahead at least, especially for those internationally educated nurses, because the more you study and the more you could understand Canadian culture and practice. Don't forget CRNE is testing Canadian entry level nurses standard. No matter how much experiences you have in your own country, you still have to pass the Canadian RN entry level and their style. How do we study ahead? I think different people have different preference. For me, I usually study 2 hours in the morning then do house work and grocery shopping etc, two hours study in the afternoon , after dinner, I would do some practical questions for about 1 hour daily on weekdays from the beginning of the twelve weeks to 4th last week. I met up with my study buddies weekly for discussion and clarification in person. We also divided the chapters in the books into parts and each of us presented some of the important areas to the group during our meetings. By doing so, we saved a lot of time to read up the chapter individually and we could highlight the most important part and understand it better. We joined for online review courses and share the course fees. I went to library for some simulated test weekly(just bring a test paper with 200 MCQs questions with some pencils and a timer after a good breakfast). In the last 4 weeks before the exam, we hardly had time to meet in person, so we opened our Skype group conference call discussion. It worked very well. Everyone was so amazed as it is so convenient and so accessible. We discussed our mock exam questions and we gave our own opinions / rationales for why we choose correct answers for those questions that we answered wrongly or in doubt in our individual attempts. Throughout the discussions, we also learned from each other for certain difficult topics, like how to maintain confidentiality and disclosure of our clients info , how to remember the fetus heart beat tracing and the clinical indications( it appeared this time , we were so glad that we discussed it). Three of us got advanced experience in the different specialized areas, everyone will share with each other how to remember those tips, it's a great experience and you will never to find this kind of help from any books or online learning. We shared our resources together and we gave each other support during these days. We never allow any negative feeling sustain during our study period. One more thing I would like to share is to understand the questions and contents , never try to memorize them by heart. Only when you understand the contents , the knowledge is yours forever.By the way, our study group finally consists of only three nurses, one from Canada, the other is from UK and I am from Singapore, with our different backgrounds: pediatric and maternal, community health , and critical care nursing experience. It is a great mix group for this Crne preparation. We did about 2000 MCQs altogether. Don't use the nurses2canada study material, theses NClex style, you may use CNA prep guide more than once to get used to what and how CNA wants from nurses. Bear in mind, all those questions you practised ahead are not exactly like the real exam questions. I think Crne committee must have worked very hard on the paper,i have never seen any questions comes out from the study material we used. Believe me the exam is much harder than it practice questions. The questions are more vague and grey. So be prepared for that. I believe CRNE committee has gone through those market prep materials carefully to make sure there is no similar questions there. Best luck for future CRNE writers. Above is my personal experience for your reference wherever is applicable. Wish everyone happy while waiting patiently for our great news in July. :)
  17. I received in Singapore by 18th of July after they sent the first letter to Ottawa, i phone them, cno resent the letter to Singapre, the letter from cno was dated on 13th of July 2011, I am still keeping it. Some of the states receive it as early as 9th July. It depends on the individual province, if the province is small and has less participants, they usually get it slightly early. Ontario always get the largest number of writers, it is usually around 2000 writer in June itself, so it takes slightly longer to get the results.
  18. Last year June test was held on the 2 June if I am not wrong, the results sent out or relapeased out on 12 july, I think this time it will be around 15 to 18th July.
  19. Right side heart failure, the client's heart fails to pump and receive enough vol of blood to the lungs and from circulatory system. By elevating the legs, it helps drain the circulatory syst fluid load back to the heart, it is different from systemic heart failure in which both sides of the heart is fully congested and the management will be targeted at lower the fluid load of the heart, so you don't position your clients legs higher than heart in systemic heart failure. I hope this will help with questions read earlier.
  20. How to move? I am confused. I am actually looking for more nurses who is Living in Ottawa region to form a study group for this coming CRNE June . We have about 4 nurses now. If you are writing your Canadian RN exam in this June and you stay nearby Ottawa area, we most welcome you join our study group every week. Best regardsWendy
