  1. They cancel almost everyone on third shift. Myself and one other nurse get cancelled the most. What I don't understand is that they are hiring on my shift left and right. In the past month I only got to work 10 of my 15 scheduled days, and four new nurses were hired for my shift.
  2. I am a LTC nurse. I have worked at my facility for almost a year. I was hired third shift three nights a week. Six monts ago I began getting cancelled. It startedout being once a pay perriod, now it is up to three times or more a pay period and sometimes I go in and the facility has me down as an aid (which I don't mind from time to time). Is anyone else dealing with this. I am trying to buy a house and that's why I haven't quit. I am worried now because this facility has called me off so much since I began homebuying in august that my home loan may not go through because my income has shrunk so much. Is this normal? I am feeling very discouraged from nursing at the moment. I went into this career thinking it was a viable option to provide for my family and something I could love since I can care for others.
