  1. thank you both! wow, you guys did great - you should be proud. Sheryl18, I live close to the RI border and would def consider work in both MA and RI once I (if I ever) become an LPN. I am honestly not in a rush to get my BN right away but it seems like many who become LPN's - 99% are going for their RN's as well. Maybe down the road. Do you like your work at the Assisted living facility? Is it stressful? tehre are 2 right in my town that i weould be interested in applying to someday but was wondering how the day to day is from an actual nurse that works at one. Is your bridge program full or part time? Thanks again for answering all my q's!
  2. Thanks for all of your posts - they are very helpful. "Somedaypeds" - with your suggestion of a 1 yr BSN program - are all of those strictly on campus type programs or are there any online programs? Im assuming they are on campus but wanted to ask. Would give me more fliexibility as I have 3 kids under the age of 6. I think I may have to wait a year or 2 but dont want to if I find a perfect program. Thanks.
  3. Hi everyone, I am very new to all of this and frankly, a bit intimidated. I have been reading non stop all of these posts and dont even understand the lino ADN, LVN (how is that diff from LPN?) BSN, MSN - which one is higher? and etc etc. BAsically - I am a Mom of 2 little ones and would like to take an LPN program. Tehre is one nearby that runs for 14 mo, 3 nights a week, plus some weekends. 1) Did any other Mom's start out brand new like me and enjoy it and happy they went thru with it? 2) I have a BA degree in Psychology from a 4 year college. Does this mean I could take a p/t program to become an RN -basically, does my 4 yr degree help? 3) Lastly, any other LPN's in MA, specifically? Thanks for all your help!!
  4. Congrats! That is awesome - keep it up. Quesiton for you. Are you a first time LPN student? I very much want to to the LPN program near me but '''scared' :*( I also have 2 little ones and nervous I wont be able to juggle everything for 14 months at 3 nights a week, etc. Can you tell me more about the program u are doing and how its going? Thanks very much in advance. This is all still very new to me.
  5. Hi - just curious if you ended up applying. This is probably a stupid question but I am very new and green to all the nursing stuff but very much want to become one. I already have a BA degree from a 4 year college. Could I also apply to an online nursing program such as this one to become an RN or do I need any other form of nursing accredidation first? Thanks.
  6. Hi, thank you both. I have not looked into an accelerated BSN program. Can you explain exactly what that would get me? Sorry, I am very green at this and do not even know all the terms (BSN) assuming is Bach Science in Nursing - does that make me an automatic RN? Explain as much as you can, I do appreciate it - I am here to listen and learn and eventually make the deicsion that is best for me. Thanks again :)
  7. Congrats Patty. I am hoping to take the TEAS exam (next year) and be accepted to then start an LPN program too. I will be interested to hear how you like it. Is your program also 3 nights a week for 14 mo? I have two little ones so I can't do it just yet but hoping to by next year. We will see. :)
  8. Hello Everyone, I am a 39 yr old Mom of two, who has been a stay at home Mom since having my 2nd child. He is now just 16 months. Over the months, I have been considering a total career change and getting into nursing. there is a 14 mo program at our local Tech Vocational School (accredited) and Its 3 nights a week, 4-10pm each week for 14 months. This is a lot but I really want to do it and hoping if not this coming semester, then nezt Year I can enter and complete this in 14 mo to become an LPN. HAS ANYONE else done this, in a similar situation as I have been in (Mom, busy schedule -2 crazy kids, etc) :) I have a BA in Psychology from a good college but never did much with my degree and immediately went into Sales out of college and have been doing similiar ever since. Its not fulfilling to me, I have aklways always wanted to do nursing...as I am more a ppl person (yes, cranky ppl even) and not wanting to sit behind the desk all day. Any advice would be great. Anyone ever done a 14 month program to LPN? I know an RN is ideal but hoping that would come another day down the road. I also dont understand how the whole bridge program works for that (LPN to RN). Thank to all replies in advance! Jennifer
