U of T 2012 - is it ok to not have finished prereq's yet?
Hi Jemarie, Thanks for your reply!! I also got in (while completing two prereq's) so it looks like U of T doesn't mind giving conditional acceptances. See you in September!

Nursing at UofT 2012 Intake
Hey all!! So excited to start in September. Does anyone have any more information re: the vulnerable persons criminal record check and the health status forms/medical tests that we need to get? I wish I knew more so I could start on them now!!

acceptance to accelerated programs in ON
Congrats tashap18!! Very exciting. I wonder if someone will make a facebook group soon? For those that haven't heard, remember there's still the whole of May for them to continue sending out acceptances.. and then June for the wait list (which in my combing of previous years' forums, I DID read about people who got in from the wait list). Hang in there!

I'm having trouble logging into the OUAC page - but then I thought maybe I don't have one because I was an internal U of T applicant and didn't fill out the OUAC 105 app? I'm not sure. Did you do an internal application too or the OUAC 105??

acceptance to accelerated programs in ON
Ok I got mine yesterday and it says I have until Thursday April 12th (basically a week) to accept the offer with a $500 certified cheque or money order delivered to Admissions and Awards. (Problem is, I use an online bank so it takes 5-7 business days to get a money order mailed to me. So my parents are going to get me a money order and I'll have to reimburse them with a personal cheque.) You'll get your letter, but I'd start arranging the money order now (addressed to University of Toronto) if you're like me and need to get it mailed to you! :)

Good luck!!! Smkim24 - have you received your letter yet?? Mine hasn't come (it's been over a week) and I'm getting antsy!!

acceptance to accelerated programs in ON
Congrats, smkim24!! Are you going to accept? U of T is the only place I applied to so that's where I'll be going. It took a few days before the "Join U of T" page was updated to "accepted". Now I'm anxiously awaiting the letter to arrive in the mail so that I can accept the offer! Ess_bee, there's still lots of time - from U of T at least, til June!! Hang in there. When is your interview at UBC?

acceptance to accelerated programs in ON
Yup! Undergrad was at U of T. And hopefulnurse2012, I don't know if U of T will give you an admission or not. I'd recommend checking this page: Past Applicant Profile - also I'm pretty sure they'll be considering your 5 most recently completed credits at the time you applied.

Thanks ess_bee and boxxyrn!! Boxxyrn, it sounds like you should have a good chance at being one of the few not-yet-finished students they accept!! I had a 4.0 in my last 5 credits, pre-req's between 80-90 (though two courses still being completed), volunteer experience in a sexual health clinic (4+ years), various AIDS-related volunteering.. and a bunch of cycling/university related stuff that is not as pertinent. Sounds like we're similar candidates - I hope they let you in! Keep us posted :) You too, ess_bee.

Just got my acceptance to U of T nursing via e-mail! It's conditional on receiving 60% in the two courses I'm still finishing up. Good luck to all of those waiting :) oh and let me know if any of you will also be going to U of T in the fall!! :)

Congrats, Rachel_Naomi!!! You must be very relieved right now :) Will you go to UWO for sure or would you consider U of T if they accepted you? Also, smkin24 - March 18th from U of T is super early! I hope they're on that schedule this year as well!

smkim24, thanks for sharing! It's heartening to hear that you got a conditional acceptance. Hopefully U of T will be handing out more this year (I'm thinking maybe they extended the application deadline because they didn't have enough strong applicants?). Anyway, I'm also checking the Join U of T page every day, it's terrible!! Will keep you all updated. https://secure.cnsa.ca/board/viewforum.php?f=9 is another site where folks might post when they hear :)

I took it through U of T's School of Continuing Studies. I'd say it wasn't easy, but was fair and I learned a lot. Surprisingly, they didn't go into the chemistry of metabolic processes at all (i.e., Krebs cycle, etc). Is that where you're struggling with the Athabasca course? Sounds rough. But Daisy_08, I am taking a Stats course through Athabasca and it's pretty slow-paced and easy so far.. hopefully they're not all brutal! :)

I know, the wait is excruciating! I just finished taking an online physiology course, but am still waiting for the mark to come in before I send the final transcript.. also doing a stats course until June. They said on their website that it "is not uncommon" for people to receive conditional acceptances for unfinished pre-req's - but I've heard it'll affect our chances of being accepted so I hope it's not a big deal! Nervous.

I'm applying to U of T too! They claim to start handing out acceptances in early April but I've seen on forums that in previous years they've sent offers starting in late March. Good luck!

U of T 2012 - is it ok to not have finished prereq's yet?
Thanks for your replies, dianafa and loriangel14. From what you're saying it sounds like the chances are slim.. I am curious to know how high of a GPA would be required to offset this - is there anyone reading who got a conditional acceptance and would be willing to share their cgpa/final year gpa? I feel confident about my application in all the other areas except for not yet having completed the prereq's. I'm not sure how it will affect my chances.. how much later (if at all) do they offer conditional acceptances?

U of T 2012 - is it ok to not have finished prereq's yet?
Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone knows (perhaps current U of T nursing students) if not having completed your prerequisites at the time of application reduces your chances of acceptance? I'm due to finish my physiology credit in February and will finish statistics in June. I'm done my undergrad though. I know it's early, but I just submitted my supplementary application to U of T and am nervous! How big of a preference do they have for applicants who have finished all prereq's? Any insight is much appreciated! Thanks and good luck to the hopefuls, J.
