Encouragement/Advice please
I have been a CMA for 3 months. There are many things I enjoy about my job, but I recently got negative feedback about my attitude. This surprised me as I thought I was exhibiting a good attitude at work. I can be quiet and there were times when I felt uneasy about a lack of structure, but I thought working hard and keeping my head down would speak for itself. I feel uneasy about this feedback and get nervous about going into work. I'm stuck at a crossroads of sorts: I would like to tell my supervisor I want to explore other departments, but I am not entirely ready to leave my current department. I am afraid of how she will react to this, but I don't have a lot of confidence that things will change in the long run and I will leave the job anyway eventually. OR 2. I could stick it out and possibly learn more. I feel it might look bad to leave a job after 3 months even if I feel I am not thriving. Is it smart to tell my supervisor I want to explore other options? Has anyone else had this kind of experience? I go back and forth on what I should do. If there is a personality conflict I don't know what I can do about that. Seems like some people may have already made their mind up about me and I don't want to waste time trying to change people when I can focus on patients.

Co-worker dynamics
libbyliberal: Yes, she does have ADD and she is very vocal about what medicine she takes and if she has or has not taken it. She also tells us that WE should ask her if she has taken her meds. I refuse to be a babysitter for her and I don't like it when someone's personality/mental difficulties take over an entire office. Thank you for the advice. I will keep these in mind "Sorry I'm busy" "You do you and I'll do me." Great!

Co-worker dynamics
To Caliotter3: Thank you for the suggestions. I have walked away when she starts asking for a lot of favors. She knows her stuff, but can be so lazy at times. The best advice is grin and bear it. I don't have to work with her every day and at least I only have one obnoxious co-worker and not 5!! I will use this as a learning experience and take time to see what other fields I might want to get into. Who knows, a lot can happen in one year! But it is so nice to "vent" on the message board when something gets under my skin. Thank you for response and happy new year :)

Co-worker dynamics
I recently became a certified medical assistant. I was so excited to get a great-paying job with decent hours. However there is one co-worker with an obnoxious and loud personality. She talks non-stop and always asks for favors when she can easily do things herself. I don't like working in an environment where one person's attitude takes over everything. Everyone is irritated by her at some point. But I don't want to quit a job after only a few months. I want to stay at this job for one year to look good on my resume. How can I deal with this person while still learning at this job? Thank you !
