  1. 1. CT 2. None (new ADN grad and just got my 1st offer) 3. ED 4. $30/hr 5. Evenings $3, weekends $4 6. Union originally from NYC but moved to CT. Was debating if i should continue to look or jump at the offer when I came across this thread & I think I'm gonna jump at it. Cost of living wise Property taxes are around $6500/yr(a bit higher than NYC), my house cost $160,000(very good price for 3bed/2bath house in 1/4 acres in CT), groceries are around $400/mth (higher than NYC), cost of running the house around $550(electricity,water,oil,cable etc)
  2. Thanks for the info. How's Hartford hospital? Do they hire new adn grads?
  3. I just graduated with an ADN in December of 2013 and am interested in applying to YNHH and was wondering what are the likelihood of me getting hired there and the starting salary for ADN-RN? I have completed 2 externships.. one at Bellevue Hospital ED in New York, NY as a student nurse extern and one at Woodhull medical center ED in Brooklyn NY as a graduate nurse extern. I am currently enrolled in a RN to BSN online program also. I appreciate any advice u can give me on looking for jobs and interviewing for jobs. I'm from NYC and plan to move to Bridgeport-New Haven CT area soon
  4. I never took summer A&P but heard it's hard coz ur cramming a lot of info into 6 weeks but if u get a good prof n u put in the time u'll be able to do it. I had Jeremy Tausch for AP1 n Daniel Seth for AP2. AP1 prof was really good not so much the 2nd guy. Well good luck n hope u get into the NUR program. I'm moving on to NUR 211 in the fall
  5. Hi guys I went to the BMCC bookstore and they have the first 5 books on the list and the online access code as a package for sale @ $243.00. The other books u have to buy seperate. Did anyone tale the CPR certification course yet?? BMCC offer it for $69.00. I found some online course also for like $35.00 but not sure if ND will accept it. Does anyone know?? When I called Mr.S he said to ask him on orientation day.
  6. Yes I'll be there tomorrow between 10and 11am. How did u do in the HESi test if u don't mind me asking? I got 93% and 800 for CT.
  7. Hey I applied for the day program. Did u get the call before me or after? My last name start with J.
  8. Hi all Mr.* just called me @6.30pm. I got in. Doing the happy dance now... yey
  9. Stole238 Did Mr.S the 30% from Gpa is from overall GPA or pre req GPA???
  10. @stole238 hey don't give up yet. U still have hope. As for the the way they calculate the Avg for the incoming students, I went to the ND on 12/12/11 and they said 30% for overall GPA, 30% for Pre reqs and 40% from HESI. A girl in my calss took the test on monday and there was a glitch in the test. she only got to finish 2 parts so the whole class went to the ND to complain. They were told they can take the other 2 parts on dec 27th. I find this is kind of unfair to the rest of us who took the test in one shot but I guess it's unfair for the ones who took it monday also coz they didn't get to finish it. Oh well what r we gonna do but wait and see :)
  11. Thanks Stole for the info. I got 800 for CT and a 93 avg. The class avg was 78. I took the exam on friday.
