  1. Thanks everyone. I had hoped to hold off for a few years and do the RN to MSN down the road once I figured out exactly what avenues I wanted to take my education in but I was hoping to get some experience before going back to school. I currently work for a hospital in the twin cities (MN) but they want me to be enrolled in a BSN to be considered, which I understand, but don't want to attend school right away. I want to start a family and start paying off my tuition debts. So I am feeling stuck since deadlines are approaching for the RN to BSN programs.
  2. Is there any advantage having a previous 4 year degree when it comes to job searching as a new grad? My 4 year is Retail, merchandising and management with a concentration of interior decorating and minors in art and business. I am graduating with an associates this coming May. Is there anyone out there that felt having a 4 year degree in something else had an advantage over people with just an associates when applying for jobs? I'd love to hear your opinions!
  3. Hello all and Marvie, I am HOH and have worn hearing aids since I was 3 years old. I am about 66% deaf in my right ear and about 60% deaf in my left. I used sign language growing up (in a deaf and HOH school) and have lost a lot of it since I have no reason to use it anymore since everyone around me is hearing. I am a nursing student and have purchased a special stethescope to sync with my BTE hearing aids. I also lip read a lot and find it difficult when people don't face me. It's been a challenge but it's definitely something I can overcome. It hasn't stopped me from doing anything I've wanted to do. Good luck to you all and it's good to know I'm not alone! Anna
  4. HealthNut, I was sort of in the same boat as you. I was working out 3-4 times a week and was in a long term relationship. As I am starting my second semester in the ADN program, I haven't found the time and effort to work out like I used to. I started to get lazy because my mind was exhausted. My boyfriend and I live in an apartment together so I work two jobs to help pay rent. If you are able to keep up with your commitments kudos to you. You will have to make some time sacrifices whether its with your workouts, job or girlfriend. I chose to make my boyfriend a top priority and I'm glad I did. Good luck!
  5. I know I'm not the only one feeling this way but I guess I need some reassurance....I am just finishing up my first semester in my ADN program. I have learned A LOT but I still feel very lost. I feel I cannot put the pieces of the puzzle together. Will this eventually all come together? I know most will say it will but how do you know you have enough confidence to do your job well and know you are doing it correctly? I'd love to hear some insights. Thanks!
