  1. How long did it take you to get your visa screen? I am scheduled to start work in 2 weeks so I am scared I won't have enough time.
  2. Good morning, I am a Canadian nurse that has been educated in the U.S and I have passed my state NCLEX. When I went to the border to get my TN visa they instructed me that I need my VISA screen. Is this true? Since I did not attend university in Canada I find it hard to believe. Also, I am scheduled to start orientation in 2 weeks; if there is any advice you can give me on what papers to bring to the border to show that I do not need a Visa screen, or if I need one is there a way to get it within 2 weeks? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance for you input
  3. I am a Canadian nurse looking to get my TN visa also. Do I need a visa screen even if I finished UNIVERSITY in the states? Did you have to apply for your visa screen or did your hospital just give you one?
  4. Well i spent 50,000U.S at an American University so I think working in America is fine!
  5. Yes I have a social security card already. Yea I am going to have to email my employer about the TN visa i think
  6. Hello, I am a Canadian nurse (only Canadian citizen) who graduated from an American University with my BSN. I have interviewed for an RN position in Virginia. I just got the call from HR stating that I recieved the position. Does anyone know what I need to do now to work in the U.S? Anything about the TN visa? Thank you in advance for your replies
  7. Thanks for the replies I appreciate them
  8. Thank you for your comment. However, since I have not worked on either unit in clinicals can you tell me a little about each of them?
  9. Hello I am a first time poster. I recently interviewed for two nursing positions. Luckily for me I was offered a position with both. However, now I cannot decide which position to take. Both are entry level nursing positions at the same hospital with the same pay. The only difference is, one is the ortho unit and the other is transplant. Can you guys give me some insight on both units? What do both types of nurses do? Which unit has patients that are more independent when it comes to bed baths, etc. Which would be a better fit for a new graduate nurse? Thank you for your replies in advance :)
