  1. I am finishing up my first year of nursing school, and already feel bombarded with questions about what I am going to get a masters in....and I'm like ummmmm I will be 27 when I finish, hoping to get married and start a family at some point after, and I just don't know if a masters program is right for me. Plus the fact that I will have some serious student debt to take care of. What I am confused about is what options I do have of furthering my education and potentially taking on more challenging roles in my workplace without a masters or phD? Can anyone give me some suggestions on options because a lot of my professors seem to not understand that not everyone can spend forever in school (which I basically feel like I already have since I have a bachelors in advertising already as well) I appreciate any advice!
  2. Thanks for the support, I just needed to hear it all haha. I have my final check-off Friday so I am going to start practicing as much as possible and hope for the best :)
  3. they kind of do offer lab hours, it's at a seperate center, and we rarely have an instructor there, or the supplies needed, it's not that helpful. I definitely need to just keep trying when I have the chance, it's just disheartening each time I fail at something.
  4. I need a little advice/encouragement. I am about to wrap up my second semester of school and I feel like I am lacking in my skills ability majorly! I have had clinicals both semesters and our school has a skills lab class as well, but things like IV's are still so foreign to me I freak out when I have to do anything with them, I don't even know what I would do if I had to actually do trach care...like what is wrong with me...is it just me??
  5. Thanks so much for the help! I really appreciate it, phone call has been made :)
  6. That would be amazing if you could ask, just about if letters are sent or not. I have her number, but I knew it was the busy end of semester so i've been hesitant to call. If you cant of course no biggie! And good luck on your finals!
  7. Ok so right before Thanksgiving I emailed Stacy and asked if I should be looking, or should have already gotten my letter. She asked me what my address was supposed to be on the application, I replied, then replied again asking my first question, and I have gotten nothing since. That's kinda why I am getting really anxious about it. I am honestly fine with an acceptance or rejection because I haven't finished two pre-reqs and once those are done, I can apply to a couple of other places, but I really just want to know now. Patience wasn't ever a strong point for me haha.
  8. I applied to UMHB for 2012 as well! Has anyone heard back yet? I was told it would be mid-November and still nothing, just getting anxious now any information would be helpful!
