  1. I am currently going to North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC. No its not hard to get into in my opinion. Just have to have at least a 2.5 GPA overall and also in the prerequisites as well. Its a great school. UNC Chapel Hill and Duke are also great schools as well for 2nd bachelor degrees in Nursing.
  2. Are any of you second degree Nursing students? How do you like it so far? I am taking the prerequisites at my college now to apply to the nursing school here. I am just curious to know if there are others who were in the same boat as me at one point. Any advice or suggestions when it comes to test taking tips? Thanks in advance for your advice.
  3. Do not feel that way at all. I am a 26 yr. old single mother of a two year old girl (terrible twos), always wanted to become a nurse but decided to get my first degree in Criminal Justice in 2008 instead. I had a fear of Anatomy or yet any science. I am now taking the prerequisites to apply to the nursing school at the college I attend now. I first worked in a prison after obtaining my first degree and my daughter was a newborn then and I couldn't stand the risk of me not coming home to her due to the dangers of my job. So I decided to face my fears of science classes and go back and get my second degree in nursing. Stepping out on faith, I have never been so happy before. I finally am happy with my decision to nursing instead of doing something I disliked as a career. So don't think that your age is of importance...YOU CAN DO IT. It's better late than never. I did and so have others in are age range. I wish you the best of luck :)
