  1. Nutrition class was informative. It certainly required constant up-keep, so I'm glad it's over! I was taking micro lecture and lab at the same time in addition to working, so I was worn out the entire eight weeks! You added a lot to the class discussions--I enjoyed reading your posts. Are you enrolled in the online BSN program yet? Let me know how it goes.
  2. Well, it's nice to talk to you in another online realm! I've heard great things about St. Luke's Hospital, and if my husband and I stay in the area I would like to work there. I start the LPN program at JCCC next week and I'm really looking foward to finally getting started on my nursing education. I did look at both programs (KU and St. Luke's), but upon getting into the LPN program in early June I decided not to pursue either of those programs at the moment. Since it worked out this way, I'm going to try to bridge into an ADN program and then get my BSN online. I have a classmate who's an RN and she's about to start the combo BSN/MS program at KU. This too is an attractive idea--getting both degrees in one shot while already working as an RN. In your nutrition class intro you mentioned KU's online BSN, do you know how competitive that program is?
  3. Well, I'm happy to say that I was accepted to JCCC's LPN program. I'm looking forward to starting it in August. Hopefully it won't be too difficult to bridge over into the RN program next summer...
  4. Dan, Thanks for the tip--much appreciated. I looked up UMKC's program and plan on giving them a call on Monday. I also registered for some info regarding the BSN program on St. Luke's website.
  5. Hey john, I feel your pain...it sucks. Hillary, don't be sorry for being happy--you deserve it!!! I'm happy for you.
  6. oh my gosh!!!!! I'm so excited for you! I'm at work right now, and now I'm going to go insane until I get off at noon so I can check my mail--- Congratulations Hillary!! Update: I got my letter too...didn't get in, but that's ok. Being out of state cost me those extra 10 points so...I applied to KU today--I'll go ahead and go that route since I was going to do it anyway.
  7. Dan- Thanks for the info. I may look into that Neosho program if JCCC doesn't work out. I feel good about it though, and I had an interview for the LPN program today.
  8. I know....:) What else is bad is my friends/family keep asking me (every single day!) if I've heard anything yet...
  9. Talk about an agonizing wait....I've been checking the mail fanatically. I cannot survive another week :-)
  10. Hey guys! Well hopefully this is the week we find out. I have an interview for the LPN program next week, and I would love to hear some good news before that! Either way I hope something works out. Are both of you done with the science classes/gen. eds. etc...?
  11. Thanks for the update. Did you apply to any other nursing programs?
  12. Today's the 22nd---Good luck if you haven't had your interview yet--let us know how it goes! Tember
  13. My interview went great as well! I cannot wait until the end of April to get the results.
  14. I received my letter on Saturday, and I have my interview this week too. I'm a little nervous, but definitely looking foward to it. Good luck to both of you, maybe we'll meet each other this August :-)
  15. Thanks for the info. Well, we're in time frame when we should be receiving notification, and I'm anxiously checking the mail everyday.
