Bow Valley College - Part time
Yes, I'll call BVC and see but wanted to also get some advice from someone who has completed the part time studies. Hospital units/clinicals: understood Full time: not an option, and I really don't mind doing the part time either. Will take a bit more time but we're prepared for that.

Bow Valley College - Part time
Hi there, I have been snooping the last few weeks and can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for in the posts, so I do apologize if this has already been touched upon. I am thinking of doing the Bow Valley College part time program (I am a mom of two, working full time, with a very supportive husband....but giving up my full time job right now is not an option). I have been on the BVC website and the part time program states it is 8 semesters long at 2 yrs 9 mos. Now, is this 2yrs 9mos straight through? Also, any nursing student moms out there doing the part time school thing and working full time. I do have great vaca/flex at my job now so hopefully once I do get accepted I will take advantage of that to use for study here and there but I'm also not lull to the fact that this is going to take alot of hard work on my part (and a ton of organization and structure). But I've had this passion for as long as I can remember and am prepared for it all!! Thanks in advance for your replies! av

Well, I'm not a Curious Student anymore...
Hi Curious Student, I read a post from you back in '08 or '07 just now, and you were asking for advice about Northern Lakes, what to do, etc. That thread intrigued me, cause like you, I'm 30 with 2 kids, supportive hubby and am looking at doing the LPN program at Bow Valley. I see from this thread that you are now complete...YAY!! Congrats to you! I just wanted to see what route you ended up taking (did you go to NOrthern, did you choose a different school?). As well, how did you find juggling school with family life? I want to note the one difference with me is I'll be doing the part time LPN program (just doing Science and Math upgrading now), and working fulltime (the option to not work is just not there for me....and my family). Any tips, thoughts, etc...you would like share. Maybe some info you wish you had received when you were pre-LPN student? Thanks a bunch....really appreciate it!
