  1. Thanks, everyone for your advice and input! Wish me luck as I "pound the pavement"!!
  2. Well, now that I've graduated from nursing school, I am, of course, looking for work. I have applied to numerous hospitals in my area online, like they want me to, but now I am wondering if it's worth it to actually walk into the hospital and find someone to talk to about my chances for employment. I've heard (and been told on occasion) that it's a waste of time to try and get a few minutes of the hospital HR representative's time, since they don't accept paper resumes and will refer you to their web site for any and all information regarding their openings. I guess I need someone to tell me that it would be worth it to try it anyway. Since this is a mid-life career change for me, I'm willing to consider just about any unit or shift in a hospital setting. I've been out of work for about a year and a half (in order to go to school full-time), and I've got mouths to feed at home!
