  1. Wait...Is it even possible to get a DNP without being an RN or having a MSN first? If not, then my question is completely irrelevant. Haha.
  2. Heyllo. I'm also considering applying to UIC's GEP program beginning in January of 2013. Now, I have to admit that I'm now slightly uneasy about applying to MSN programs [and other versions of it like the one at UIC] because after having spoken to a friend of mine who is currently a nurse, he told me that one thing to consider before applying is the fact that the AACN would like to transition MSN programs into Doctorate of Nursing programs by 2015. Having learned this, I'm wondering as to how beneficial it would be to apply for an MSN program now when the DNP may be possible within the next 4 years. I would hate to work hard only to find that as soon as we graduate, the next best thing is available. What do you think?
