  1. hi sorry for late reply i've been busy looking for a job here in vegas. my score was worse than urs i would get at about 45-55 and my highest was 90 that was pharma(note: i love pharma and i enjoy memorizing them so thats my best subject of all time) lol all i can say is just keek answering them and reanswer them over and over till u get 100 percent dont get discourage of ur score, mine was worse and i made it and so definitely u could do it too!
  2. Hi everyone, I would like to share again an experience this time is about job hunting and the hardship of finding one. so here goes my intro. I live in cali and took my nclex-rn last april and passed and i immediately get a reciprocity here in nevada. a week after my reciprocity application i got my temp license and immediately and furiously planned on applying via internet with all the hospitals in las vegas area, total application? 24! istarted getting with one rejection that says "no longer considered" grrrrh it started with only one and then the day didnt even ended yet and when i checked it again....voila! all 24 went straight to pile of trash! everything was all not for consideration! so i have one more chance and that is to go to vegas, and so i did. before i went there, i checked all thos ltc facilities in vegas and its neighboring cities. wrote down every facilities and its infos and went there one by one till i filled up all those application, again 20 application and my pen gave up, half through my last application my ink went out hahah! a week after that i got call one by one for an interview, it was fast and got a total of 6 interviews, some of those are'nt even reading my application and just called me for an interview and then when i get there all dressed up researched everything, for the first time they will see it that you dont have an experience and will turn you down without even starting the formal interview, what a waste of time and money! but then there this two great facility who gives a break for new grads like me and gave me the chance and sadly how i like to worked for both facility i chose the first one that made me feel like im welcomed regardless of experience, and im happy to say i will be starting my orientation this monday. :) ps theres still alot of opportunity here in vegas than i had anticipated. every facility i went to were on for hiring, though its not that easy to get even for an interview its best to go and grab the opportunity. u just have to be patient! pls forgive the bad wrighting
  3. well what im saying is that if u cant be of help it'd be much nicer to encourage rather than say awful things, shes here to ask for help. seeing as ur comment is of no help as well. why not post a a sample letter yourself rather than saying "keep your letter short and simple" she has probably know that having read the above comments.
  4. i agree. i think that when one is in need of our help we should extend our hand rather than saying things that would demean them.
  5. Hi guys, sorry for the late post. I already send the pdf file to those who gave their emails but incase u did not received it for any reason heres is the link, the admin from other post has kindly reposted the linked where i got it as well. >>>>>>>> https://allnurses.com/nclex-discussion-forum/passed-my-nclex-750555.html Again to whomever person/s who created that incredible material thank you very much. @dcmom nope i did not read it from cover to cover but its not advisable to do so, for i really hate ob and pedia and i always fall asleep everytime i'd tackle that part so i just did as much ob/pedia questions as i can. @may it took me 2 months to process my papers and thats because of the waiting period to get all my documents from the philippines to get evaluated. but as the bon got all your requirements it will only take them like 2 weeks to review them and if you dont receive your att then call them, it took me 20 days before i called them and told me the att is all set and ill be receiving it in few days but i got it the night i called them. They dont need a license and u dont need to take cgfns exam but they require credential evaluation from three agencies posted on their website. I hope i have answered all your questions satisfactorily or if not just pm me here and i'd try to answer them as i can.
  6. @ pumpkin yes its a life saver and its a relief knowing it fortifies what u already know to the point of mastery. @mimi, sorry i cant say how the blue one was coz i have the yellow, but to tell u something everything u learned is another step to winning ur license. i had the 4th edition as well but i thought my content wasnt enough so i bought the yellow one. any book will doeven ur ms book from school will be enough but its too much of infos, thats where the advantage of saunders content coz its simplifies everything for better understanding and absorption
  7. @pumpkin, for me yes it was very helpful i learned alot from it. @ mimi, use the saunders comprehensive, it was almost two years since i graduated before i took the exam also so i needed some refresh and saunders was a great choice. and ncbsn after saunders would greatly help u as well
  8. i agree shutter island! thats two votes for it :)
  9. thanks everyone!im happy to share what was shared to me as well :)) i tried sending the pdf file to everyone who gave their emails i hope u got it but if not just pm me here and ill be more than happy to resend it again. go go go nurses!
  10. to everyone asking me to send the pdf file if u recv it pls email me back so i know u got it or if not, pm me here so ill resend it again
  11. its not really because ur international but because of cuncurrency issue like ur clinical should be concurrent with theory and they increase the hours of ms and ob concept which has affected all applicants from 2011 to present.
  12. yup i got like 30 sata but as i said they became my favorite questions and i kept hoping for more because i felt like theyre easier than the rest type of question.
  13. i dont know the link of it but i have it on my email so just send me ur email and i'd be happy to forward it to you :)
  14. what ive used is the yellow one and im not sure about the blue one but the yellow one is the best for content review and the satas too :)
  15. pls watch who am i by casting crowns on youtube, theyre very inspirational. on my last 2 weeks i felt the same way u do, like i was thinking i dont know where im going or if im ready for this, but the more u feel that i guess the more ull do just fine. keep fighting u can do it!
  16. i think it would be ncbsn for the question and saunders for the content and lacharity for prioritization. i cant comment on hurst or kaplan qbank coz i didnt avail them its too expensive. oh yeh when u try the quizes on ncbsn do them over and over again it will surely help and dont get discourage with ur scores coz at first i was ranging from 40-55% which really put me down but i just kept answering them 2-3 times :)
  17. i was like you guys, i really hated sata when i was reviewing. everytime i reviewand i'd get sata and it drags down my overall score it really depresses me so i always make sure to do sata questions from nclex3500. but during the actual exam it was by far the easiest type of sata.
  18. pearson vue trick try to register again after ur exam if it directs u to credit card page u fail but when its says something like "u cant register..contact ur board of nursing" it means u pass :)
  19. send me ur email coz i cant find the link here and i have it on my email ill just send it to you
  20. sorry but what i meant is that when u get sata question u would feel relieve because they are not the hardest questions i felt that not sata questions are much harder so i was considering during my exam that sata is more like of a give away because theyre very easy not the typical sata u would get from reviewers which are really hard. sorry for the misconception :)
  21. sata in actual nclex i think are bonus points the more u get them the more u wish its going to be another sata, dont stress ur self too much because sata in actual exam are alot easier as long as u know the background ull do just fine cheer up!
  22. 1. i agree 2 months max is enough to make u realize ur ready 2. take time and enjoy a short break 3 studying alone suit me best and do ncbsn i highly recommend it, dont get discourage with ur scores on every test just practice and practice! goodluck and ur with my prayers :)
  23. i did the saunders questions mainly the sata questions and the drugs. i ddid from 100-150 a day or sometimes less if i dont feel like studying, i do as much as 50. and i agree from everyone who said that its a must to read the raionale whether you got the right or wrong answer.
  24. Hi everyone I just want to share my recent experience taking the NCLEX RN. Hope it will help those who are about to take the exam. Sorry for the long story and not good in writing my story. Any questions pls don't hesitate to ask. Thank you and good luck to everyone ... pray and work hard. I know you can make it! A bit of a background. I took my exam yesterday 4/17/13, and I am an international educated nurse from the Philippines and I'm one of those who applied for NCLEX here in CA bat I was denied too. I was so devastated and thought of going back to the Philippines so I could start my career as a nurse there instead. But, my family was against the idea and encourage me to look for other State that doesn't implement the concurrency thing and that where allnurses greatly help me. I found Texas as an alternate route to taking the exam and I'm am thankful that I did not give up and got my att. I have read a lot of posts here, maybe I visit this site once or twice a day to see if someone has posted something to either inspire me or get some insight as to how their test was. Got my att 1st week of Feb and in Texas you only have 75 days of att validity so I immediately scheduled my test and started studying furiously and took many advices from this site, like the pdf file, nclex3500 and NCBSN coz I didnt know their existence till I read those lovely people who shared those review materials that I must say, has done a tremendous job in preparing me to beat the monster, it shudders me to think how could I have made it without those. I have Saunders 5th edition, Kaplan book (dont have the Qbank 'coz I cant afford it) and pda by Lacharity. I highly recommend Lacharity and NCBSN. They were really helpful. Thank god I bought them on the last 2 weeks of my review. I also watched videos on Youtube like the ecg readings and procedures and they were so helpful as well. I got the good pop up hours after I took the exam. 75 questions for 2 hours I got my first break on my 74th question. I took the break and gathered myself, wash my face and went back inside and when it was my 75th question before I hit the next button I was praying lord pls give me more question so that I could have more chance of passing this, but God was so great and knows better whats good for me, and the screen went blue and my world started crashing down for I really thought I did the worse test of my life...but God took over and blessed me love and I made it! asldc BSN, RN :)
