  1. I can understand your apprehension but it's a great compliment that your teachers think you can do well in the emergency department! congrats! You will see it all so it's hard to tell you what to focus on. Know your lethal rhythms, shockable rhythms. It's handy to know your antidotes, narcan, romazicon... Check a bp before you push the narcs. Always get a blood sugar on the passed out drunk. We know you don't know everything. It's okay! The most important thing is that you don't worry too much about how you look and ask questions! If you are worried about a patient, tell us. If you don't know a dosage, look it up. If it sounds like a strange order, question it. If you are worried about looking stupid, don't. Have fun & lots of luck!
