  1. I am planning to apply for the Fall 2020 at Frontier. My mentor went here and spoke highly of their program. Any tips for the essays (e.g. formatting and content)? Thanks!
  2. brettt posted a topic in Cardiac
I'm transferring from a Heart Failure CCU to a post-op PTCA floor. I'm only getting two weeks of training and I think it's mainly in regards to sheath pulling. If anyone has experience on a floor like this I'd like to get an upper hand and start looking up common drugs/drips, complications, and just general tips in this area. Thanks in advance!
  3. Excuse the typos above. I'm on my phone. Should read *glucose
  4. I guess I underestimate how much insulin type 2 can make. So in a healthy individual out liver releases glucosein response to low blood sugar. Is this mechanism failed in diabetics?
  5. So I have the basic understanding of DM. I've always wondered why diabetics have the tendency to become very hypoglycemic despite insulin being held. For example I've had pts who are 200 and say "don't give me insulin." In the AM they are 40. Why is that? Wouldn't the inability to produce sufficient insulin cause BS to remain elevated to some degree (or a minor drop) rather than such a rapid drop?
  6. Tonight I have a CHF of with both Primacor (0.125mcg) and Dobutamine (3mcg) running at the same time. I've never seen them used together.... Is this common? Anyone care to explain the advantage of this?
  7. So I did an LPN to RN bridge and I'm about to finish in December. One would think I know this stuff back to back but I still feel I lack in areas. I made really good grades but a good chunk of it didn't stay in my long term memory. I know I'll get the majority of my knowledge base in the field but how else can I? Any suggestions on good books, magazines, or other resources? I have two great med surg books but I can seem to get motivated to crack them open and just start reading. How do you guys stay sharp?
