  1. thanks again so much!!!!
  2. Mtsteel horse... Thank you so very much for replying to my post. I have been researching every thing I can find on Correctional Nursing and I think I would be a very good fit. The more I learn the more I want to pursue this career. I have applied to a lot of places and I dont care where in California the prison is I would definately go. I appreciate the support because I'm really getting frustrated. If you know of a specific recruiter that could possibly help me get an interview, I would be so grateful. You can always email me private!!! Sincerely; MsJas:heartbeat
  3. Thank you Thomas RN and backtowork for your replies. I dont have any drug convictions, I have a dui from 3 years ago and have 1 year sober. As far as the Board of Nursing restrictions... I can't work in a supervisory position and have to work under another R.N., Nurse Practitioner or Doctor. I continue to attend outside meetings and also counseling. I so want to work in Corrections and just trying to get an interview and would even work in a L.P.N. position. I just don't know how to get my foot in the door. Thanks MsJas
  4. Hi; I was wondering if it is possible to obtain a position in Correctional Nursing if one is on probation. I have sent my resume and app to a ton of prisons and I usually get a response back in the mail. But I have yet to get an interview. Any help would be appreciated. Sincerely Msjas:)
  5. Hi, yes I have my resume on career builder and there are lots of places that has tons of positions but it's hard getting my foot in the door because of being on probation. Are the places you mentioned more lenient toward nurses on probation? As far as Case Manager positions, I'm not eligible to work in that capacity because I have to work under another R.N. Thanks a lot for replying I will apply to those places as well. Msjas
  6. ok gotcha... thanks so much again and I will post as to any updates. I have sent out a lot of resumes and apps via the internet but this week I'm gonna hit the pavement looking for work. I know as long as I stay c&s things will work out. msjas
  7. Thanks for the reply. So what happens in the mean time??? What if I am able to secure a job before the board meets? Thanks so much for the info
  8. Hi, I have been reading threads on here and find it very informative. I have just accepted a stipulated agreement with the CA.BON for probation. I had a cocaine possession in 1997 and a dui shortly after that. I have been in residential program and currently have almost a year c & s. I still havent received from the BON the agreement that I settled for (probation). How long does it take to receive that once you have accepted the agreement? I am now searching for a position somewhere (anywhere) but havent had much luck. Are there any nurses here that are from the Long Beach area? It would be great to hear from any of you. Oh and by the way, I completed prop 36 for the felony case and the case was dismissed.. thank goodness for that. Thanks in advance for replying to my post... Msjas :redpinkhe
