Applying to hospitals in different state.
Thank you for telling me about your experience. It is really very helpful. Your approach to applying for jobs seem to be more efficient (and far less expensive) than I thought it would be. If there are other experiences or advice, please do let me know. Keep me posted.

Applying to hospitals in different state.
I will be graduating in August from NY. I am very much interested in working in Las Vegas, or even Seattle, but I'm leaning more towards Las Vegas. I've looked at the hospitals online, so I have an idea where I'd like to apply. From what I've read in this forum I think now is the time for me to apply. Can anyone tell me what the process is to applying at hospitals in a different state? I'm interested in finding out how many interviews I'd have to go through. My plan is to spend about 2 weeks on the West Coast. A week for Seattle and another week for Las Vegas and get all the interviews done, and maybe even look at apartments. What do you think? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Internship Program
USNRN309- Thanks for your input. How long have you been a Navy nurse? How was it during your first few years? Where you stationed where you wanted to be? I'll be visiting a Navy hospital next month and hopefully then I will be able to gather more information from new nurses. Although, I'm pretty much sure that I'm going to join the Navy. Here is a brief description of the 16-weeks internship from the Navy Medical Center in San Diego's website. "The Nurse Intern Program (NIP) is intended to orient new nurse graduates and registered nurses with minimal clinical experience to the profession of nursing and military medicine. The program consists of attending classroom lectures, participating in weekly group seminars, and providing patient care on the units with a preceptor."

Internship Program
Has anyone done the nurse internship program either with the Navy or the Air Force? If so, could you please tell me what you thought of it? I'd also love to hear from the Navy and AF nurses about their experiences -- where are you stationed (state/overseas?) and how do you like it?

Navy vs Air Force
I'm going to sign up in active duty. Right now, it seems as though that people seem to be really happy with the AF, and that's why I'm sort of leaning more toward joining the AF. But the Navy recruiter is much more helpful than the AF recruiter, and he's trying to get me the assignment that I want, which is to live overseas. Up to now, I'm still confused, but I'll be visiting a Navy hospital and hopefully that helps.

Navy vs Air Force
I talked to recruiters from the Army, Air Force, and the Navy. I know that I don't want to join the Army, but I am very torn between the other two. I was told by the Navy recruiter that nurses don't generally spend time on the ship. Is this true? I'm interested in being stationed outside the U.S. Both branches sound similar, so I'd like to hear from those who have experience in either the Navy or AF. Thanks!
