BCIT August 2012
Hi guys I also deferred from Jan and will be starting the program in August! As for the immunizations, I went to the orientation for the Jan intake and remember them taking about how they will email, as well as give out information packages during first orientation which should be in May, and it will tell us how to get all the necessary forms completed properly. So for now I don't think there is much to do besides more waiting and making sure your up to date on your shots. I got my info on what I needed from a disease controls center, so I would suggest going to one of those clinics. Good luck to everyone trying to get, and don't get discouraged if you don't make it in the first time. I applied three times, and the main factor that got me accepted was focusing on getting tons of volunteer hours!!

yay congrats Jmullahsbaby! nice to know were finally in even if it's not for Jan :) I called the program advising line yesterday, and luckily got the head adviser for the nursing program!! and within 5 min I found out every course that they accepted and can be used toward the program and which ones couldn't. so if I were you i would call them! the number is 604-434-1610. From what she told me about my courses from Vic, English 135 or 115 transfer and are good for the English requirement and both psych 100A and 100B from vic are needed to fulfill the psych requirement. If you have a lot of 200 courses you should be okay for the extra 6.0 credits but they would need to be from the humanities or the social science department. anyways she told me that the best decision is to defer and take the four courses I need in Jan. which i am now signed up for!! because she said that the ppl that do the best in the program have most of them done beforehand. As for orientation they emailed me this morning saying im welcome to still attend in December one, but there's gonna be one in May as well. I think im still gonna go to the December one tho just to be more prepared for whats coming up!!

yes, we are in 100% for august, but there's a good chance we'll start in Jan. so we dont have to pay anything till they phone, and can defer at anytime if we don't want to stay on the hold list!

Smiley your great!! soo happy I found this page :) but yes I meant aug intake, I think the stressing out of all these months has messed with my brain!! I have both psychs and the English course, but unfortunately all my other courses from UVIC wont transfer, so that leaves me with the two required libs classes as well as the extra 6.0 credits needed! Decisions decisions, I have no idea if I should defer or not :S

Hi smiley i just have a question for you about libs 7001! i thinking of deferring a year like Vi Li to get all the extra courses out of the way. and was just wondering how long it took you to finish libs 7001? Is it a course that will take the whole semester or can u just really work at it and have in done in a month or two?

Hey TanFran congrats on getting into both schools!! I was looking into U of C but was a little confused with the different school systems. Did you take Math 12 Chem 12 and another science 12? that's what I'm understanding you need to get into that school, but all the ones in BC you only need those courses up to grade 11?
