  1. I did it with EMTEC in Richmond before Christmas. It only took around 15 min.
  2. Yeah the bcit pre-reading is long but still quite manageable. There's a lot of pictures so it's not all blocks of text. Anyway, I'm excited for classes to start =)
  3. Yeah I think that's the case. I needed some shots and they told me they would handle it when the term starts. Also, as admissions said in a previous letter, psych/libs/english credit will be done automatically right? Has anyone heard anything about their post-secondary credits being transferred?
  4. I dropped my vaccination form off directly at Health Services. They didn't charge me anything either =)
  5. I forgot the name of the patho book but you can find it under the BHSC section of the BCIT bookstore's website. It isn't under the nursing program selection.
  6. Maybe you can see the nurse in the BCIT clinic? I know that a RN can sign for it at well so try calling them. Also, does anyone know a respiratory face fit test provider in the fraser valley?
  7. I was going to buy the jarvis assessment book (2009 ed) on amazon but I noticed the 2011 edition just came out. I wonder if they'll switch to that edition.
  8. Regardless of when you got your hep-b shots, I think they need the results of the hep-b antibody tests so you should probably go to your doctor and get that done first and bring a copy of that with you to BCIT. The nurse there will go over your form again and if you need any shots they will give them to you when the school year starts, so you probably don't need to get any vaccinations from your doctor.
  9. I gave my immunization form to BCIT in person yesterday fatpapaya. They told me it just had to be filled out, it's fine if you don't have all the shots. You need to get a hep-b screen done and submit the lab results with the form though. I suggest submitting what you have early so you can have any problems sorted out.
  10. I haven't done it yet Smiley. I'm thinking of waiting until after orientation.
  11. Congratulations! It's nice to hear that after all the angst you had to go through
  12. I can't read pg 31 either. I had to open a different browser program.
  13. I wonder if we'll recognize each other during BCIT orientation. I'm going to look around trying to guess if someone is smiley or karlyac or somoene else from this forum lol
  14. I guess the emails weren't all the same, the one I got basically said the same thing but it had the tuition amount and the U-pass fee. Miss Thang, I hope UFV posts their decision online tommorow or gives you the results by phone. Waiting over the weekend can't be fun.
  15. Yeah, that's odd. It was in the email telling everyone that instead of paying the commitment fee you must pay the full tuition instead. The last sentence says the full tuition amount including U-pass fees. In any case the total matches the fee schedule =)
  16. You have to pay $3237.35 in total by the due date as ****** said in her email. Tuition is 3087.35 plus an additional mandatory U-Pass fee of $150 ($30/month for 5 months for level 1). If you already paid a commitment fee of $200 then subtract that from the total due.
  17. Ok thanks for the info smiley. The form said that BCIT provided the shots so I thought we had to go there.
  18. smiley did you get the shots at the BCIT health clinic? Is the immunization review supposed to be done at BCIT or can we do it with any doctor?
  19. I paid BCIT with a credit card as well. From my past experience in another school, they usually let you defer tution payments until your loan money is available. Since it is the first term though they will probably make you pay at least the commitment fee to reserve a seat. invictus, "ready for review" basically means the admissions committee hasn't made a decision yet. That's what it says for me too. UFV is supposed to let us know by Nov 4.
  20. I guess I'll be doing WHMIS too then. As for the First Aid, they make you redo it every year. So if you took a course Oct 2011 you would have to recertify by Oct 2012 even if its supposed to be valid for 3 years. Miss Thang I got the interview letter along with the info session letter.
  21. I'm guessing that the final admission decision for UFV will show up online by Nov 4. I did do stats, several psych courses, and I think 3 liberal arts credits. But like I said my University grades were fairly average. Does anybody else who got accepted at BCIT know what's up with the WHMIS requirement? Did they ever mention this before?
  22. I actually finished a biology degree already. I have no idea how/when UFV will give the results, although they did mention in one of the information sessions that the nursing department forwards a list of accepted candidates to the admissions office and they would "send out the letters".
  23. It's my first time applying to BCIT and UFV. For my high school requirements they were all A's except for a A- in AP chem. The post secondary courses I've taken were not as good lol...... I had around 200 volunteer hours.
  24. I think it was Oct 3.
  25. I applied to UFV too. Haven't heard anything yet...
