I'm a 50 year old male and I want to change careers. I currently work at a paper mill and I hate it. It's just not what I want to do the rest of my working years. I have been in touch with the local colleges concerning enrolling in their classes. I know alot of people are thinking I'm too old to change but I personally disagree. I have friends that are in the medical field as LPN's and RN's and they are very encouraging. My question is are there any other person that have waited this late in life to make a career change like this and what are the pros and cons of doing so. I'm a people person and the thought of dealing with people on a daily basis doesn't worry me , I'm just worried that with my age and lack of experience in the medical field I may not be accepted like I hope. Any input , positive or negative will be greatly appreciated.
