going behind company's back to take permanent position...
So I started this new travel assignment that I really like and they are already talking turning it into a permanent position. the contract says I have to be gone from the facility as a traveler for one year before I can accept a permanent position. The nursing recruitment office says technically the company doesn't need to know bc they do not go to them for any references or anything. If I do this is it something I could really get into trouble over?? Could my travel company take legal action or would it just ruin my relationship with them?

Going to CRNA school and surviving financially?
Hi everyone, I am Trying to work out a game plan for anesthesia school and would like input from all of you. I am currently working full time as a travel nurse working in ICU's and will be done with my online BSN program in feb and looking to start CRNA school in the next couple years. my question is how should I go about financially supporting myself while in anesthesia school? Should I save a bunch of money or just take out alot of loans? The problem is I will be going about this all by myself with no financial support from anyone else. I work as a travel nurse but I am thinking of taking a permanent position because I have so much debt and traveling is costing me more than I am gaining. Any help would be apprecaited, thank you!!!

Can I get into CRNA school?
Hi everyone! I am a RN looking to go to anesthesia school in the next two years. I am a NY native and work as a travel ICU nurse but am looking to setting in rochester for a while so I can save money. I will be finishing my BSN in February then I am going to start the process of getting evrything together to apply to CRNA school. My question is what did it take for all of you to get into CRNA school? I know I do not have the greatest of GPA's my ADN program is just above a 3.0 and I believe my BSN gpa will be a little bit better than that. Do they really focus on GPA or is does your experience and such have an effect too? I will have 5 years ICU experience by the time I apply including Trauma, Surgical and Neuro ICU experience. I will be getting my CCRN and maybe the certification for Neuro Critical care nurses, I was thinking of getting PALS, I will take my GRE and take some chemistry course because I know alot of programs want some chemistry course. I am just worried they will look at my GPA and reject me. So if you could all please tell me what really goes into getting into CRNA school I would really appreciate it! The schools I am looking at are Albany, BUffalo but I really have my heart set on VCU.

What are my chances of getting into CRNA school if...
I am currently doing just that. Working full time and getting my BSN online full-time. I have been told that as long as the school has been accredited and everything it is just like getting your degree in the classroom. When you graduate your diploma will say where you got your degree not that you got it online and that is what graduate schools will see. I am also hoping to go to anesthesia school and was told online BSN wouldn't hurt my chances of getting into a program.

Travel position turned permanent
Hi everyone, I have a quick question, I have noticed that when I am at an assignment they always ask me to sign on permanently. My next assignment is at a hospital that I think I am really going to like and may want to sign on permanently. Do travel companies allow you to do this?

Does anyone have any experience with Supplemental Healthcare??
Hi, I just signed a contract with supplemental healthcare. I had worked with nova pro and american mobile before but all of my traveling friends from NY always recommended supplemental. My recruiter is great he worked very hard at getting me this current position. The only thing I don't like about them is they do not encourage taking the housing, my recruiter said the company only has about 5% of their nurses in housing. he said they find their nurses housing but then the traveler is expected to pay for the everything but they do everything they can to point you in the direction of good housing. They give you a high stipend because of this, I will be receiving $1500 a month for rochester,NY. Which is more than enough to find a decent place to live for three months.

having location issues
I am currently on an assignment in california with Novapro and I really like the company and my recruiter. for my next assignment I need to be back in my home state of NY near my family due to some family medical issues. I have asked my recruiters to find a position in three different cities in NY all of which are a maximum of three hours from my parents house. Novapro has nothing for that area so I am thinking of switching to a different company because they have jobs in all of the cities I was looking into. has anyone else had location issues with their companies not being able to find them a job in the city or cities that they would like? I feel bad switching companies because I really like my recruiters but they just don't have the job I need. Do people usually switch between companies? Has anyone worked with supplemental healthcare or heard anything about them? thank you for any input!!
