  2. How is it going for you guys? I'm looking into NKU, UC, and Xavier MSN direct entry. Can't start til 3014 but that's fine I need some pre-reqs.We you guys able to get any aid or use loans? I still have about 10K in undergrad loans and I'm worried about the financing
  3. Hi allI'm mostly a lurker but have been interested in nursing for a few years now. I am currently a SAHM and plan on returning to school in 2014 for either nursing or M.S. Genetic Counseling. Can anyone give updated information regarding class schedule times now that UC is on semesters? My son will be in school full time so I'm thinking for him I may need before/after school child care most days. My daughter will be in traditional child care. I have the class schedule but not sure of how the times are? Also, a lot of my friends are saying its hard to get a job in nursing in this area right now. I won't be able to go outside of the cinti area for employment. Does anyone know how long it's taking new grads to get jobs & what they are starting out in for B.S.N.?Thanks!
  4. I have a Bachelors of Science with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. I've always been interested working with people but went to college right out of high school and didn't know what I wanted to do. I worked in dispute resolution full time for a few years and the last year I have been staying at home--I have an almost 5 year old and an almost 1 year old. I've been looking at graduate programs and I am really interested in the accelerated MSN program at University of Cincinnati. I know I need some of the pre-reqs so I was thinking of starting those in a year when DD is 2 that way by time I would be in the full time nursing coursework she will be 3(ish) and my son will be in school all day. Is doing the MSN doable with kids at home? I know how much work school is and I know nursing school is hands on and can have wierd hours. The main thing holding me back is my husband has to travel for work (at least 2 weeks of the month) and our parents work during the day so child-care is the main issue for me right now. Any advice?
