Please hear me....the OIG Exclusion List is discriminatory. After going thru drug court, RETAINING my nursing license through Peer Assistance, complying with drug court, Peer Assistance, getting my drug charge DISMISSED and sealed, I was placed on the OIG Exclusion List. After 5 job offers, and 5 jobs rescinded (it didn't matter if they received Medicare/Medicaid), no company would hire me. I finally had to cancel my contract with Peer Assistance as I couldn't comply with working 2 and 1/2 years of my 5 year contract, since no one would hire me. My lawyer wrote to OIG, I wrote to OIG, we sent documentation on my Recovery efforts...to no avail. I recently sent a plea to the ACLU to assist me with my Exclusion. I sent documentation and blogs of other nurses suffering due to the Exclusion, as I believe it is violating our rights to work under state laws. But they refused my case. The OIG discriminates. Sometimes they put you on the list, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they'll take you off, sometimes they won't. If you've defaulted on federal loans for college, you're screwed. If you've made mistakes as a health care professional and are attempting to get your life back...you can't. They take it from you, they take your livelihood, without any remorse or legality...no due process. I did not defraud the government, I did not abuse a patient, and I did not default on any loans...and I'm on this OIG Communist Exclusion List. It is prosecution without jury, it is being blacklisted without due process, it is persecution at it's worst...here in the United States. Cherije
