  1. The nurse recruiters are really nice. They just ask basic questions about your personality, why you chose nursing, what you would bring to nursing. Nothing really specific at all. Even my interview with the nurse manager was pretty basic. You don't need to rattle off any nursing knowledge aside from maybe how you would handle a difficult patient or something to that effect. Just be kind and friendly and you'll do just fine.
  2. jessica - not sure exactly but I think it might be the first week in september. christine - I'll send you a private message.
  3. Someone that I know that works there contacted the recruiter on my behalf. A few days later, the recruiter contacted me and i went to meet with her the next day i think. A few days after that I was asked to come in for an interview with a nurse manager. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I didn't get that position but a couple months later more positions opened and the recruiter contacted me for an interview with another nurse manager on a unit I was really excited about. A few hours after the interview, the recruiter called me offering the job because orientation was starting in 3 weeks and they needed to get people started on the new hire paperwork. Orientation is great so far; pharm test was not bad at all. Everyday for the first 2 weeks (except one day on the unit) you are in the classroom listening to lectures from RNs from all different departments. If you have any other questions just lemme know. I don't mind talking about it :)
  4. Hey guys, I will be starting new nurse orientation at Winthrop next week and I was just wondering if any current employees can give me a heads up on what I can expect during orientation. Also anything specific I should focus on for the pharmacology exam besides calculations? Do they give you a study guide? Any info would be great. Thanks :)
  5. Winthrop University Hospital is hiring lots of new grads. The next new nurse orientation is in September. Send the recruiter an email with your resume attached once you pass the NCLEX. Good luck :)
