I do not recall the exact question, but it was something along the lines of "In a setting utilizing Team Nursing, which of the following would you expect to see take place?" And the choices were: 1) An RN delegates to an AP to give medications 2) An RN performs no direct patient care 3) An RN delegates patient care to a group of patients. (According to my professor, the right answer) 4) A charge nurse oversees patient care. I chose 4, but it was counted wrong. However, I am confused as to how an RN delegating patient care TO a group of patients can be correct? It is more of a problem with the English language than anything else, as the answer is clearly worded to mean delegating from an RN to patients. It was a typo, I'm sure, as answer 3 should read "An RN delegates patient care to a group of healthcare professionals" or something along the lines of that. As soon as I read the question, I immediately marked out answer 3, as it makes absolutely no sense the way it is.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Hope this is in the appropriate place. Currently, I'm a senior nursing student in a BSN program. Today, we were allowed to look over a graded test we completed a few weeks ago for my Healthcare Leadership class. I ended up with a 95, which I was pleased with, but only until I looked at what I had missed. The question involved team nursing and what happens in a team nursing environment. Of course, a team leader (RN) delegates to LPNs and AP to carry out certain tasks. However, the exact wording on the test was "An RN delegates patient care to a group of patients." When I took the test, I, of course, marked through that one as soon as I read it and chose a different answer involving a charge nurse overseeing patient care. I approached the professor about it, but she was quite dismissive and told me that the grade "stands." I am not pleased with this, however. Am I wrong in being upset with this? And should I go further with this? This is our first test of the year, but I would like to start out on the right foot, especially considering our grading scale is a 96-100 A. Also, does anyone else have a problem with the wording of the "right" answer?
