  1. Yes it is but we will get it done. Good luck with your classes this summer.
  2. Hello Fall 2016 AP Hopefuls, I too will be applying for that term. I am back in the AP program. I was in it for 2 years and stopped because someone told me it was next to impossible to get in if you were not partnered. I am back now and plan to finish, no matter what. Any of you that are not partnered have any feedback on what you do if you get in? Does the school assign you somewhere? I sent an email to my advisor asking that question but haven't heard back from her. The only classes I have left are patho, pharm and intro which I plan to have completed ASAP. I have taken my pre-requisites with UTA with the exception of General Psych. I am so ready to be done with all these classes and get into the program. I will be taking my HESI in a few weeks. Let's keep this thread going and keep encouraging and informing each other.
  3. Hi, I was reading one of your older posts (when you got accepted into the AP BSN program at UTA) and have a question. I am in the program working on pre-reqs and only have a few more. I also live in the Houston area and I am not partnered. My questions are: 1. Are you active in the program or did you start somewhere else? 2. Are you partnered? If not, how are you doing clinicals? 3. How do you like it so far if you are in the program. Thanks,
  4. @Katycath, I'm so glad for you. I didn't start taking classes at UTA until April 2011 and was so thrilled to find them. I know that these blogs can be pretty negative, but I also know people are just venting. I love that we have this outlet because nobody really understands the frustrations of getting into nursing school unless they have been down that path. I would love to keep in touch with you and hopefully be following in your footsteps of being accepted in Fall. What would you attribute your acceptance too. I mean, since you are not partnered. Would you point to grades? Do you know where you will be for clinicals yet? I'm sorry I have so many questions, I am just so glad to talk to someone from the Houston area that got accepted and is NOT partnered lol!
  5. Thanks BJBAILEY1972, I'm not discouraged, but I will be more vigilant in getting things in writing, (emails etc.). Thanks for your advice.
  6. Congrats Katycath, are you partnered. I've been reading these posts for days now and I'm starting to wonder. I live in Cypress and have applied for the AP BSN program Fall 2012. I also reached out to Katybusymom, since we all live in the same general area. Sure would be nice to have some friends in my same struggle lol.
  7. @kswilliams1107, congrats! Seems like all I was reading was about the denials and waitlist. I was kinda "freakin out!" I applied for Fall 2012 and am starting to rethink my options.
  8. @katybusymom....Congrats on getting accepted to two programs. I applied for the Fall 2012 AP BSN and I live in Cypress, TX. I was just wondering, are you partnered? Since you and I are in the same neck of the woods, I was wondering if I need to apply for a job at a partnered hospital. I keep reading all the posts that seem to indicate that.
  9. Also remember that different state schools have additional requirements. I got my Bachelor's degree in one state but when I applied to schools in Texas for my second degree BSN, I still had to take Texas History and a couple of other core courses that were not necessary for my Business degree in Florida. The best thing to do is not panic, and call them on Monday. It's probably just a couple of courses that you can knock out before the next application deadline. Good luck!!!
  10. Well, that's good to know. Good luck everyone!
  11. McKinney Mom, I agree. Are you currently working for a partner hospital, if you don't mind my asking? I'm starting to hear that if you don't work for one of those hospitals you are not likely to get in. Any thoughts on that?
  12. Moeoc, Thanks for the post. I keep hearing different things about the program at UTA and how they are NOT telling the full story to applicants. I won't stress over it, I will just apply to different nursing programs and see which one I get into first.:) Have a great evening and thanks again, Sherri
  13. These are some interesting comments considering I was told by someone in the nursing AP department that Methodist Willowbrook, HCA Clearlake, and North Cypress Medical Center were all partner hospitals and these are in the greater Houston area. I am currently in the AP program, I had to take a couple of BIOL classes, and have submitted my 2nd application for the nursing school and I will be calling them tomorrow for clarification.
