How Long Did It Take For You To Get Accepted? TCC?
Hi, so I'm just finishing up my pre-reqs and was banking on waiting approximately 1 year to get accepted into the nursing program I really wanted to get into. I was told not to put all of my eggs in one basket but I really want to go to this particular school: Tacoma Community College. Someone told me today that they waited OVER a year and gave up waiting...so it made me wonder, how many of you out there that have been accepted to Tacoma Community College or any other college, how long did you actually have to wait after you filled out your first application to get in the nursing program. Second question, should I settle and apply to different colleges? Thanks so much for any input.

Well it was a nice look inside the world of a nurse even if it was a homework assignment :)

You can earn a total of 13 points your first attempt of applying. If you don't get accepted the first time you get a rollover point which gives you an advantage over the people applying for the first time. I hear that you might as well not plan on getting accepted the first time applying. You can earn points like this: a combined gpa of 3.7-4.0 gets you 6 points (less gpa = less points for gpa). They only look at Eng 101, Chem 121 and Bio 241 (those are the only classes they combine the gpa for and give you points for). Then if you have completed Bio 260 before the March 31st deadline (of application for nursing program). You can check out more on the website or attend one of the nursing orientations. They have one coming up on Dec. 14 from 8:30 am to 9:30. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Anyone attending Olympic College for Nursing?
So I'm in Chem 121 right now. Have a few questions. Do I really need that 4.0 gpa? Do I need the 13 out of 13 points for applying the first time and what would be my chances of getting in...or do you have to have the rollover point. I guess my question is, what should I expect when applying the first time? Should I just assume I won't get accepted the first time? Just how competitive is it to get accepted?
