Getting a hospital job
I did consider getting my CNA first, but I'm 26 with 2 kids and I have to work. My RN is going to take 4 maybe 5 years to finish. I can't afford to take extra time to get my CNA, lol. Otherwise it would be an AWESOME idea!

Getting a hospital job
Hello! I am currently working on my pre nursing courses and I would really like to find a hospital job. The problem is everyone wants experience! I would prefer something with patient contact but I would be willing to start anywhere! I am currently volunteering at SLU Hospital hoping that it might help my chances (and to just be in a hospital setting) Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get noticed? Suggestions for my resume or really any advice would be great, thanks!

Getting a hospital job
I am working on my pre nursing classes and I am really looking to get a job in a hospital. Something with patient contact would be great, but I'll take just about anything to get my foot in the door! I'm volunteering at one now, but does any one have any suggestions on how to get a job with no hospital experience? Thanks!

just stating pre nursing...
Hi! I am just now staring my pre reqs in pre nursing, but my ultimate goal is to work L&D, or maybe OB. I know that getting into L&D right off the bat is hard so I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to get in as quick as possible. I do not work in a hospital, but I am starting to volunteer at one to get a foot in the door. I'm hoping having some hospital experience will help. I've also heard that working med/surg right out of school can benefit. Any advice would be amazing! (I'm in St. Louis, btw)

chosing the right path
3 years because I need to go part time. I'm going to find out tomorrow how long the career college will take. I just need to make sure I can bridge to a BSN later with there program.

chosing the right path
Hi! I am new here and just starting to take 3 years worth of pre reqs to get into a nursing program. All in all, this is going to take me 5 years to finish. I am currently planning to go to a University that offers the nursing program nights and weekends (so I can work), but take most of my pre reqs at the community college. Is 5 years too long? I am already 26. I am thinking about looking into a career college, Brown Mackie. It will take less time, only be an associates, but I can bridge later. Will hospitals look down on my credentials if I go to a school like this? Any other suggestions for getting started in general would help, thanks!
