  1. I was going to go to school to get my BSN but before I did that I did a CNA program. During the program and when I had my first CNA job I realized that nursing really wasn't for me. Now I'm looking into different programs and I can't decide if I want to do Healthcare Administration or Speech Language Pathology. Anyone with experience in these fields or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  2. I really need some advice. My plan was to get my BSN and work as a Nurse. I have my associates degree in liberal arts and I'm almost done with a CNA program. The purpose of me doing the CNA program was so that I can get my foot in the door and see if this is something I really want to do. I only have to take 4 classes and then I can take a 4yr RN program. I'm finding that maybe nursing isn't something for me and I don't know what else is out there. I love the medical field and I find it to be really interesting I just don't think I can handle the stress and liability that's placed upon RNs. I also feel like in a way I'd be getting into nursing for the wrong reasons (flexibility, security, decent pay) I'm already having doubts about this profession and I don't want to continue on and be miserable and end up being a bad nurse. I just don't know what to do and I have to make a decision soon. I'd prefer to do something medically related and something that requires a Bachelors degree. I was looking into SLP but I hear that it's impossible to find a job. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
  3. So I'd have no problem transferring those courses from a community college to whatever 4yr college I end up going to? I'm just worried that they won't transfer.
  4. I mean if anyone knows of any legitimate places to take A&P and Chem online that'd be appreciated.
  5. The pre-reqs I have are A&P 1&2 as well as Chem 1&2.... I don't think I can take either of those online..
  6. Hi, I've been browsing around on allnurses for a while and I think that this site is pretty awesome. I'm a pre-nursing student with a little bit of a dilemma and I need some advice and guidance to help put me on the right path to achieve my goal of getting a Bachelor's in Nursing. I just got my Associate's degree in Liberal Arts and I got into a 4yr private school where I would need to complete 4 pre-req classes and then I'd be able to enter into their nursing program. My problem is, is that my husband is in the military and we're supposedly going to be moving to another state around this time next year. So I don't know if it'd be worth it for me to go to this school and do two semesters and then move to another state. There's also a slight possibility that we could stay here. Since it's a private school it's a lot of money to attend. I don't know if I should just do a CNA program for the time being, gain some experience and earn some money my last year here. I'd hate to stop going to school for a bit but I don't know what else I should do. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've been going crazy trying to decide on what I should do. I live in NY btw......Thanks everyone!
  7. I'm just in Beacon. Not too far from the city or Long Island. I'm looking for a BSN program.
  8. Hey all, I need to take the TEAS V Exam for entrance into a couple of nursing programs that I've been looking into. With that being said, should I take the pre-requisite courses like Anatomy and Physiology and Chemistry before I take the TEAS Exam? Will this make it any easier? Or does it make no difference? From what I understand there's a lot of science on it. If I could get some insight to steer me in the right direction that'd be much appreciated.
  9. Hey guys, I wanted to know what are some good nursing programs in New York? I'm from Long Island but I currently reside upstate.I'd be a transfer student with an Associates degree in Liberal Arts with a 3.97 gpa. I'd like to go to a program either in the City or on Long Island. I was looking into Adelphi, NYU, NYIT, Pace, and Molloy. I'd just like to hear from people who have been in these programs or other ones in NY. I'd love to hear about your experience, including all the good and bad things. Thank you.
