  1. Hi, everyone! I've been reading this forum since I was a nursing student back in 2004 and now find myself transitioning into private duty independent contracting after three years at the bedside. The information you all have posted regarding this process has been invaluable and I thank you so much. I just applied as a Medicaid provider in NY and noticed it says "if you are a nurse applying for Medicaid enrollment and are employed in a physician's office or hospital you are not eligible for Medicaid reimbursement". I currently work per diem in the hospital while I'm trying to get enough clients to support myself in private duty. Does this mean I cannot be a Medicaid provider or that I can only bill Medicaid for nursing I do as an independent private duty nurse? I'm hoping for the latter! Thanks again, in advance.
