Hello, I've been a research nurse now for 6 months and the department that I'm in is lacking in a really good process. We use Epic however the department isn't utilizing epic to its fullest potential. I've been looking up and research but most information about epic and/or research process is shut down. What process do you use in clinical research? Do you use Epic and if so what do you use it for, documentation, reports, scheduling, treatment plans, etc. Currently I'm looking for detail information on reports/tasks/patient lists/ etc. Thanks in advance.

I know the feeling. The samething happened to me, and the last 3 days I got the run around. Poor school didn't see me coming at all. I called the state on them and I'm already to go again. Now if I can just make it to class on Monday with all my hair after taking my kids to school will be great. I'm so excited.... 36 hrs left!!

Did anyone else recieve an email regarding financial aid?! I had all this done and taken care of earlier in summer and NOW they say I'm on suspension. I have called every school and I'm being sent to voicemail. I guess they really want to see my pretty face so early in the morning. lol Also, For everyone going to Montgomery- are you signing up for the Nursing organization on Monday, and what is Professional causal wear?! lol I have dark wash jeans. :)

Well I bought the basic nursing kit and I must say: Im not impressed with the $100 worth of stuff. Also, I'm with all of you, I'm enjoying every min that I have with my beautiful children and getting some last min RR. Hope everyone is enjoying summer b/c its coming to and end so fast.

I'm excited as well, but its starting to turn into fear and anxiety. I pray that I'm really ready for this adventure. I read the chapters, but I don't think I learned what I'm suppose to, but we shall see soon enough.

1172- Well it was exactly what I expected. We went in the lab room, watched 2 videos, and the professor answered any questions that we had. I'm so glad that my first day is over, but we have homework that, to me, seems almost elementary. We shall see though. We have a quiz everyday, and have online work to finish before thursday. Also, Thursday we have to give each others a bath, with bathing suits on of course. We aren't watching hair or privates, but she said that way it would show us compassion for our pts. I will keep all of you updated on how it goes this next week.

I received n email from my professor at montogomery college, n im excited about starting 1172 this thursday!! Hope.everyone is enjoying their summer still.

Oh wow- I didn't see anything about supplies from the bookstore?! Im looking at the paper now and I don't see it anywhere. Is it a list of supplies or does it just say a bag of supplies?

I have read 16 chapters so far and I must say- I have no idea what I am suppose to actually be taking in. lol I guess it will all make perfect sense soon. Hope everyone is enjoying the summer with family and friends b/c soon enough we will all be drowning in nursing :)

I understand what your saying, but heres the email I recieved from the lady that helps with the transition: I"m just trying to help you save some classes for finanical aid purposes :) No, Chemistry is no longer required – Dr. Neill removed this from the program requirements. The requirements for the program are attached above in the Program Reqs attachment for all students entering the program of RN to BSN in the Woodlands

The lonestar program does not require a summer program unless you need some help after the first year! Thats only if you aren't doing so well.

Kalisefer: You should email the lady and double check!! Thats only required if your not on the RN_ BSN program. University of Houston-Victoria

Well if you do decide to do that, just make sure that the monday that you miss isn't a test day. I know u can find an awesome person to record lecture for monday and give you the notes. lol I can message you with alot of stuff that I learned from our trip to help you get the most from your trip :)

Kalisefer: That program at UHV does NOT require a Chemistry class. Just letting you know b/c I was about to take Chemistry but its not required

If I were you I would try to reschedule the vacation. You can only miss so many days of lab, lecture, and clinical. It depends on what your missing, but I would try to reschedule it if I were you. We went this past spring break and I needed a mini-vacation afterwards. Oct and Nov are going to be the craziest time in the entire program from what I heard. Hope this helps and good luck.

Am I the only person that is having a hard time trying to finish all the reading that was assigned with the kids home for the summer? I'm trying to get so much accomplished and they are so bored and I feel like I can't think straight, much less read anything, with them all over my house. I'm ready to start the program but I know that I won't be studying at home while they are here :) lol I need to do something with them that is cheap, but no matter what they get bored as soon as we walk in the door. Plus I have one boy, and one girl and they fight like crazy! Ugh

Well finally some good news: my appeal was accepted and i'm on my way to becoming an RN. Thank goodness!!!

I went and checked out my friends cheap one vs. her expensive littman one... I went online and bought mine through medisave.com. I bought the Littman classic ii se. The reason I bought that one was because it had great reviews just like the more expensive littmans, but yet its not a super cheap one either. I paid $80 with s&h and with engraving. I wanted my named engraved b/c i heard that dr. and others steal them from nurses. This way no one can deny its mine! :)

On a side note: I recieved my stethoscope today and it was the first time I wanted to cry through the whole process. I don't know about anyone else, but I have been getting everything together and I feel like its so real. THeres no turning back now :)

37 books is crazy! We have two list, a have to list and a recommended list. The have to list was only 6 books with one program through evolve. I have already bought my books and I spent around $400 for everything including 3 recommeneded books.

Well guys, I got an email stating that I don't not meet SAP requirements. rotflmbo. Are you kidding me?! I actually/ finally qualified for a little bitty grant and they said that but yet I have been on the presidents list for 2 years now. This is all because I was stupid 11 years ago and withdrew from school two semesters in a row. I'm so sorry to all of you that are having problems with the financial aid depart. They have a way of thinking that students aren't worth their time. So here is my advice, just in case you appeal something and it gets denied.. Go all the way to the top, one person at a time. I did this once, and I called the TEA on them and let me tell you that it wasn't 3 hrs later that the Man above all the lonestar directors call me personally. He was very kind, but wanted to know why i didn't go to the director. I stated that I did more than I should've and that one of the advisors was very rude b/c I requested her attention and that I wasn't going to be told to come back again. Needless to say, after dealing with them for 2 months, I filed a complaint online. When I was done, he wrote down all the names that I gave him, with dates, and he had the problem already fixed by the time I got off the phone with him. Please don't withdraw from nursing school, and do NOT take no for an answer that easliy. Go to the nursing director, and BEG her to help you if everything else don't work out. they CAN help you out!

OK Stephalump, you need to file complaints with the state and everyone else that you could possible file paperwork with. I'm so sorry this happened to you. I couldn't imagine this happening to me. I have tried so hard to get money and it seems like I keep getting denied, so I've been saving like crazy for awhile now just to make sure nothing happened to my plans. This is the craziest thing I've ever heard, but I know you can do it. Go to the college and tell em what is going on, they maybe able to help you out, and be able to tell you who the workforce commission answers too. Good luck girl!

Oh no! I sure hope everything is okay. BTW knightgal, where were u sitting yesterday? I didn't think about it until after I left, but I think we may have been sitting by each other the whole time :)

Also, Federal loans for the fall won't be given to you for books until like 2 weeks before class. THe problem with this is that we have homework that will take a good amount of time to finish and two weeks isn't enough. I bought the books for the summer and they cost me around $90. I bought a used books of coorifice, and the other fall books cost me another $350. I have had my money for classes for awhile, but my advice is buy as asap if you can the ones you need. The fall book that we needed for homework cost me $113 new. I would also tell all of you that I finished my immunizations but I didn't have a doctor fill out their form and now I have to have my doctor fill it out. YUCK! Also, if you haven't finished your background check and with you info, get on it now. There was a lady who was sending off her paperwork yesterday after orientation. If all goes well, 6-8 weeks, but if there is a problem, she may not be able to get into the program. THis is just a little information.

I"M Registered!!! I feel so exhiliarated, and yet so ready to get busy finishing up with the few things that I have left.
