  1. That makes sense. It isn't a matter of anything illegal. I take an SSRI that I have heard can cause a false positive for benzodiazapines. From what I understand there is a Medical Review Officer (the name, number, address is listed on the lab form). If you are positive for anything (as long as it is legal) they contact you and ask for any prescriptions you are taking and the prescriber information. If everything is legit, the positive becomes a negative.
  2. I was accepted into nursing school (RN) and I start this fall. Currently, I am going through the battery of immunizations, drug screens, etc. I have a question regarding drug screens. I have to have a 10 panel drug screen and the assistant director of nursing told me that I do not need to disclose to the lab any prescription medications I take, but I have to provide the director of nursing of the college a note from my doctor containing any prescription medications I take and the reasons why. This seems a little strange to me, if my doctor clears me for clinicals, why do I need to provide the school with this information?
  3. Can anybody tell me what the TEAS v5 entrance exam is like to get into LPN school? There are two schools in my area, one has the HESI entrance and the other has the TEAS v5. the HESI specifies no Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Chemistry or Physics is tested. Is that the case for the TEAS as well? I got a TEAS test prep book and I am freaking out over the stuff in there. I've never even seen most of it! I am looking to attend the Lewisburg (PA) CSIU LPN Career Center or the Mifflin/Juniata Career Tech Center (Lewistown, PA). The LPN Career Center has the TEAS and the MJCTC has the HESI. I really would like to go for LPN but I have people encouraging me to shoot straight for RN. My thoughts on LPN is that I would have a way to support myself while I studied for RN, and there aren't any colleges close that offer RN. I don't really want to have to take out a second loan just to pay for my gas to commute!
