My best advice to you is that you need to set yourself apart from the thousands of other applicants. Think about it- most of the ppl that apply have similar qualifications in terms of grades and volunteer experience, what makes your application stand out? They read hundreds of admissions essays, most probably similar since we all graduated from college with a different major than nursing and now have decided to pursue it... The "I've wanted to do this my whole life" essay isn't going to fly. So what UNIQUE and compelling thing happened to you that makes you more dedicated and more worthy of a second look than the other applications.

Can someone please explain to me how it is that I got accepted to an ETP program at an ivy league school, but have yet to hear back from Jefferson?

Is anyone else going to the visitors day march 2nd? If so, we should all meet for margaritas or something to celebrate our acceptance, get to know some people before classes start, and maybe get lucky finding a new roomie!!! Let me k ow if you're interested and I'll plan something.

I just want to say that I am also on another discussion thread for a different nursing school, and the people on THIS discussion thread for Columbia are hands down the nicest and most helpful people. I'm sure this translates to the attitude of the student body as well

omgggggggg decisions are up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YES. if/when we all get in, that is DEF reason enough to splurge!!!!!!! If I get in I plan on eatting a gigantic cinnabon from the mall....(a whole day's worth of calories) but I wont care about anything at that point..... Well I guess I might do that even if I don't get in...to eat away my sorrorws

I got a B in anatomy/physiology and a B- in advanced Chem.... Did anyone else get a b- in a pre req? I'm worried this may preclude me from being accepted

Well we all thought it was last week hahaha and then i called admissions and they said no, by the of this week.... So I'm hoping that's the case. They already have these decisions made after all!

How long after your fall grades were posted to nursingCAS did you have to wait before being notified that you have an interview? NursingCAS posted my fall grades on last Friday.....

do you think they would tell us over the phone if we are accepted? will they post it online or just send an email? will we also get a letter in the regular mail? Will they tell us also if we are not accepted?
