Private schools in the West Coast?
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me. Im definitely going to visit the school this wk. Even though I've pretty much decided to go there, supposing they accept me. I don't know the rules of conduct or or chapel practices and I need to know exactly what is expected of me so I can plan and make sure I can meet their expectations. I am christian so I don't have a problem with bible studies or chapel/worship. Thank you!!!!:)

Associates vs BSN
In San Diego/Chula Vista. Does anyone know the pay difference between someone with an associates vs someone with a bsn? Also, SDSU is competative -point system (87 pnts) and 500 applicants to 60-70 actually chosen; Has anyone graduated from there that can share their experience? Has anyone gone to Point Loma Nazarene nursing program? I'm considering it but it is a lot more money... :)

State univ vs private univ nursing school
That's great! Well, I used to work at Kaiser and they will pay for school if you already work for them, but I never heard of anything else. I will definetly find out. I have a four year old at home; I stopped working to be a stay at home mom and I have not gone back to work--I'm a student now!! I thought about going back to work but I don't think I can handle work, a lot of studying, family, and kindergarten +. If I found what you say that would be easier for me to work out. thanks!!!!!:) Hi again, Almost every hospital in my! area offers a scholarship to nursing students, it is just a matter of which hospital you would like to work at. I have an externship set up for next summer which I received a $5k check for, it is a scholarship, and I get paid for the externship and get credit at school for it! Good luck in whichever path you choose! Avery

Private schools in the West Coast?
Hi! There is a christian private school--Point Loma Nazarene University that offers those degrees. Web site is ptloma.edu. I am considering going there but the price is about 19,000 per year not including living quarters. This is a lot more than our state university but easier to get in. I just found this site and was reading through the postings and saw yours, hope it helps. ptloma.edu

Thank You so much for replying. It does help! I will look into the hospital scholarships, I had not heard of that. I appreciate it. :) Bye ]Hi, I attend a public university in Texas, and yes, it is very competitive. Some of my classmates applied three times before being accepted. Our cutoff was a 3.70 GPA. There were 850 people who applied and 100 were accepted. Students are accepted in the fall and the spring. If you have to go the private school route, there are many hospitals who give scholarships if you go and work for them when you graduate. Hope this helps! Avery B.S.N. Student Dallas, TX

State univ vs private univer in San Diego
Hi! I'm currently working on my last pre-req for a nursing program and general ed classes to transfer to San Diego State. I'm told that it is very competative to get in-it's by a point system. There's about 500 applicants and only about 60 get in. I know already that out of 87 points I'll be short by about 7. I'm worried I won't get in. I also heard about a private university-Point Loma Univ but is a lot more expensive but it is easier to get in. Does anyone have any information about this? The schools? Maybe you went through the program at either. I would really appreciate some advice or just shared experience.
