I have a problem with patients that are faking pain. I saw a patient in ER who fakes it and even says, "I am a man, I dont cry, You are only giving me 4 mg of Morphine". He has a pain contract and is a frequent flyer into the ER without any real pathophysiologies inspite of all the tests done on him. Even though pain is what the pt. states that it is, some of the patients leave me wondering whether they are faking it.... Another thing I hate to see is patients that dont want to help themselves, but are brought in by loved ones. eg. Patient that has his blood sugar over a 1000, but wont take his insulin. Somebody that hasnt had a BM since a week, but wont take anything to help him with it....(inspite of tons of PRN orders, but refuses them) How long can some one else care for them when they dont want to help themselves. Those that are depressed but refuses any form of counselling....
