  1. @melbot Your reply was VERY helpful. I will keep all that you said in mind, especially about the readings and studying because 2000 pages a week is A LOT! Lol. Thanks so much for taking the time out to respond. I really appreciate it.
  2. Thank you for responses! Very helpful. :)
  3. Thank you msturn1975! Your response was very helpful.
  4. Mean I get help when I need it, all you have to do is ask for help. A lot of teachers are able to answer questions during and after class becausew many others may have the same questions you have. But maybe you should go to like Southwest if you really want that one on one connection with your professor.
  5. Hi! I'm taking the rest of my pre-reqs at Memphis now. The huge class sizes don't bother me much at all. I think you'll be fine. What year are you?
  6. I took it over the summer to get it out of the way but I got a 79.3% overall. If you study the ATI manual for the TEAS V then you will do pretty good. I think it helped me a lot. I also got the two practice test that came along with it to get an idea of how the real test is.
  7. Lol. Have youi taken the TEAS?
  8. Micro isn't that bad, just a lot of outside reading on your own to really grasp the material. The lab is actually easier than the lecture. If you take it at Memphis, take Professor Wong but if you can, I would take it at Southwest so you can have a smaller class size and it actually may be easier there. I'm also a second year student, first year at Memphis.
  9. I take Micro and the lab, Nutrition, Theatre, and History 2010. Next semester I will be taking A&P 2 and College Algebra, along with A.African literature and Sociology.
  10. Thank you! Good luck to you too! What classes are you taking now?
  11. Thanks so much TenderLoveNCare and hayleyh31 for taking the time to reply. I'm very excited! I'm pretty confident about getting in since I have a GPA WAY above the minimum and I did good on my TEAS. I'm use to studying ALOT because I've had to do a lot in A&P and in the Microbiology class I'm in now (lol ALOT of studying). I was just very curious about the social life. I don't have too much of one now but I wanted to make sure I had at least some time for my family and boyfriend. :)
  12. Hi! I am new to the site and I haven't been getting as many replies as I expected/ wanted to. I am currently completing my pre-requisites for the program at the U of Memphis and I plan on applying for the actual program for Fall 2012. I wanted to know if there are any other students applying then as well? Also can someone who is in the program tell me a little about it and how they like the program. Could you share your experience with professors, clinicals (especially those because I am most nervous about that), the work load and how you handle dealing with the load and having a life outside of the nursing program. I would greatly appreciate any replies. Thanks! :)
  13. Hi!! I have a few questions that maybe someone could take the time out to please answer. I plan on applying for Fall 2012 and I'm certain that I will get in, but I'm just nervous about the program. Could someone tell me how they like the program, how do they handle to load of nursing school, and explain the clinicals to me. I think that I'm most nervous about the clinicals overall. I hear that there won't be much time for socializing an what not but I want to know is there a LITTLE time for that. I'm pretty good at time management and everything though. Overall I just want to know someone's overall experience in the program. Thanks in advance!
