  1. Thanks so much for the advice. I really appreciate it. :)
  2. Hi Sharbucks, The pre-req class is set to begin January 9, 2012 (the date is subject to change.) You still have plenty of time! Goodluck!:)
  3. Ok, thanks! My book should be here any day now. I can't wait to begin studying!
  4. Christine2009, Are there any other books used in the pre-req class, besides Memmler's The Human Body in Health and Disease, that I should read now?
  5. I will be attending the Concord campus! The commute from Antioch is not bad at all. I would have liked to attend the San Mateo or Modesto campus, since their lvn pre-reqs begin this year, but the commute is just out of the question for me. Have you decided which campus you would like to attend yet?
  6. From what I understand, the payment for the pre-req class can either be paid in full on the first day of class or you may split the cost into two separate payments. The first payment must be paid on the first day of class and the second half must be paid one month later.
  7. Christine! I cannot thank you enough, you've been so helpful! I plan on calling Kamila first thing Monday morning! Hopefully, I will be able to get everything worked out and save a little money! If you could email me the book list, that would be great! Here's my email: [email protected]
  8. Thanks, I found the book online for ONLY $28.00! I can't wait to start studying!...When do you usually find out about the books and materials you need for the program?...I called Ann earlier this week to ask her if a book/supply list had been generated yet, so that I may purchase my books for the pre reqs. in advance to begin studying and her response was... "No, the books change so often, I'm not able to release that info until we order the books usually one month before the start of the program and the books are already included in the tuition, which we already went over, remember???"...(it may be true about the books changing but the way she said it made me feel asif she was only out for my money, because she knows I'll probably find them cheaper than what the school is charging! I guess I'm stuck paying for the book twice.
  9. SparkleShine, I think Gurnick is the best bet when it comes to cost, believe me I've done my research! However, I did come across a school that was surprisingly cheaper and the Pre req. class was only $595 but unfortunately the tuition cost was not covered by financial aid, so that was out of the question for me...let me know if you decide on Gurnick, maybe we can study together!
  10. Christine! You've been such a huge help, thanks! I plan on picking the book up this weekend. (I might as well get a headstart! lol...) Would you happen to know the edition? BTW, I will be attending the day class!
  11. Christine, Thanks so much for responding and thank you for the advice! It makes a huge difference hearing input from someone who is an actual student there. I feel I've made the right decision to attend that particular school rather than any of the other local private schools. I'm super excited to get started! Is there any material or any particular books that I should be reading/studying that will better prepare me? I currently work full-time, so I would like to study now and stay as far ahead as possible. Thanks
  12. Hello, I am also thinking of attending this school for the lvn program beginning January 2012. I've already met with Ann, the financial aid office and I am "technically" enrolled. However, after reading some of the threads, I must say I am a little discouraged. Can you please share with me some of your experiences you've had with this school? Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
