  1. Unfortunately, This is nothing new. I have worked on a step-down unit for the last 5 years; where on night shift we could have up to 6 IMC patients with NO tech, and be in charge. It was a nightmare. However, since venturing out to other hospitals, via traveling- I have came to the conclusion that this is nothing out of the ordinary. Almost every hospital I have been to lately, has patient ratios up to 12:1. It is completely unsafe, however- what do you do? nothing. And just think if our lovely President gets his way, we will be in even worse shape than we are now! Cross your fingers and hope you don't lose your license! ps- I'm not disagree-ing with you at all! I completely agree that its unsafe!
  2. HI Everyone! So, I'm currently on my first travel assignment. It's okay, but not exactly what I had hoped for. I'm actually quite bored. Anyway, My contract ends soon... so I have been speaking with several different companies, as I did before. However, My problem is this: One company called me today and offered me exactly what I was looking for (not the company I am working with this assignment), so she sent my profile to the hospital. About 45 minutes later... my current company calls asking if she wants me to send over my profile to the exact same job! I wasn't sure what to say, so I told her I would think about it. I didn't want to tell her my profile has already been sent by someone else, but truth be told- they're paying more money for me to work there! Has anyone else ever had this problem? Suggestions on how to handle it?? Thanks!
