Goldfarb school of nursing upper division
Hi lthai1- I am currently in my second term at Goldfarb (Upper Division) and absolutely love it! The courses, instructors and simulation labs are excellent. I am amazed by the amount of knowledge I have gained in a mere five months! It is an extremely challenging program, so be prepared to really apply yourself. You will spend A LOT of time studying outside of class. Time management skills are essential to succeeding in this program! One word of advice--I would recommend that you take someone with you (parent, spouse, etc) to the new student orientation. During orientation, they have a special seminar for family members to tell them how they can help support you during nursing school. I wish I had taken someone with me, my family doesn't always understand how difficult this program is or why I need to study as much as I do. But even with as much studying as I do, I'm really enjoying it. Best of luck to you, I know you're going to love it!

On the BJC website they recommend that you apply at least 12 months in advance. If you apply for a term that is already filled you can still get accepted into the program, but will be put on the wait list. If you're on the wait list you are guaranteed a spot in the following semester if one does not become available for the semester you applied. I applied 14 months in advance and was able to get into the semester I wanted. I am taking all of my prerequisites through St. Louis Community College. I have been able to take the statistics and psychology classes online. I also took the first semester of A&P as a self-taught course so I only went to campus once a week for the lab. St. Louis Community College has a wide offering of times and locations for all of the required courses, so hopefully you'll be able to find ones that work with your schedule. Best of luck!!

I am in the same boat as you with regards to pre-reqs--I have 5 more to complete so I'm taking 2 this semester, 2 spring semester and 1 next summer. I'm trying to stay calm about how long it's taking...maybe they process the applications for preceding semesters first? But definitely let's keep in touch!

Jennybird--I also applied to the BJC Accelerated program to begin Fall 2012. My application was completed at the end of June (2011) but I still haven't heard anything. I called the admissions office and was told that it was taking 6-8 weeks to process applications, but I've been waiting over 8 weeks now. I literally run to the mailbox everyday. Have you heard anything yet?
