  1. Hi yall, I practiced chiro for five years before going back to nursing school. Im in a direct entry MSN program...the first phase gets you the RN and then you complete the MSN online. The main advice I would give chiros interested in this path is this: do not focus on the end goal of having an np...integrating practice etc at first. Nursing requires a very different thought process (some might say its truely more holistic in thought than chiropractic...) that will be a major shift for you. Embrace it...and look towards gaining experience in nursing at the RN level. Let those experiences direct your career path and your next steps. Although Im a bit stressy as I watch my savings go down while im in school:), I think this has been one of the best decisions of my life. Mostly because nursing is universal and you truely feel like your options are limitless with enough work experience and direction.
  2. jcf, ru male or female? How old are you etc? Maybe we should chat about rooming... I wonder if there will be some sort of meet and greet that happens prior to the orientation so that we can meet people and find roomates....
  3. I got ur pm...but sent email too....
  4. David...sent u a pm
  5. Yes, I live in Charlotte, and will definitely be attending. I have a home here, so total relocation isn't possible, but I am looking at options for very low cost housing during the week, since I would return home most every weekend. Some rentals in the area are very very cheap... Have you guys recieved any additional information from them yet? I'm wondering what our schedule will initially be like.... Congrats JCF...glad you made it....
  6. Very cool...where in NC do you live now? Will you need to relocate there?
  7. Found out I was accepted to ECU's AE MSN program beginning in August. Has anyone else who is accepted want to open a discussion about moving, housing, the program etc?
  8. I just got my acceptance letter today!
  9. I know...though im ok with that or anp...
  10. The pa route will get you right to the finish line faster. I like the options that exist in the ae-msn program... Ru going to the ecu pa program?
  11. CooL...congrats on the pa school! Im in charlotte, so even if mine got mailed the same day as yours, i would probably not get it today. Now ill be sweating:)
  12. Also where ru going?
  13. Not that i know of but i havnt gotten my mail...where do you live?
  14. I know...the suspense is killing me too! When did you interview?
  15. no i don't think so, they said that it would most likely be around the beginning of march before they would be sending any out. did you interview?
  16. I had my interview today, and it was a good experience. The interviewers were both very nice. You should know they said they still have more interviews to do...
  17. I have it tomorrow....what does your last name start with? Maybe they go in alohabetical order?
  18. I think they said no one wouod hear back until march...im not sure how long they will be interviewing...what did they say when you called them...are they interviewing through feburary?
  19. I got an interview!
  20. Planteater i sent you a private message
  21. Or was it a phone interview?
  22. Thats cool...how long ago did you get the call?
  23. No...no interview yet! When did they contact you? Was it by phone or email?
  24. I think you can take either the gre or the mat. They say their average accepted gpa is 3.4 and for the standard tests they just say over the 30th percentile, which i know is ecu's basic entrance requirement. Im not sure what is competitive still, since no one who was a successful applicant ever posts what they had to get in.
  25. Hi, i always read about minimum requirements for direct or alternate entry msn programs, but very few posts give the realistic numbers related to what is actually competitive... 1. Can anyone share gpa's and gre scores that will actually get you in? 2. If you also have a graduate professional degee, will they focus on your undergrad more, or your more recent grad work more? 3. Will a "bad streak" due to health problems affect you much, if you pulled it together once the health crisis resolved, and still got out with a good gpa? Anyone who can give me insight here woukd be greatly appreciated! Im applying to a school in north carolina (ecu) if it matters...
