  1. I went to work for the VA in 1989 after getting my Masters in Nursing. I was in charge of Nursing Education for the nurses at that hospital. I had to retire on medical disability in 1992. At that time my pay grade was IN-06. The pay scales and the names of the pay grades have changed, and I don't know what that would be equal to. I need to find out what the pay for that position would be now. I have been able to work part time, but if I earn too much, I lose the disability pension. The pension is barely enough to pay for my medical insurance, but I can't risk losing the insurance. The VA told me that it wasn't in their best interests to give me that information. I am unable to work full time, but I've had to turn down a pay raise because I was afraid I would earn too much. I would appreciate any help anyone can give. I have looked at the pay scales for VA nurses, but I don't know which one would be equal to IN-06.
