TB test procedure: Ok if reading is done by different RN?
Hi all, I'm about to take my second TB shot in the 2-step TB test series and was wondering: Is it permissible if the reading was done by a different RN from the RN who did the initial shot? Is it also ok to have it read by an RN in a different facility? The reason I asked is because I'm going to have my shot taken tomorrow at a clinic and need to have it read by this Friday. However, I won't be able to visit the clinic on Friday and they are closed on Saturday. I would be able to visit my school's nurse on Friday, though. Thank you so kindly for your help!

Demonstrations
I was able to have orientation and obtain my books ~2 weeks prior to starting my class. I browsed through each chapter and skill set in order to get familiarized when the teacher started on that module. Since you'll be working with residence/patients/clients, I would say safety is the most important thing to know. Safety for yourself and those you'll be working with.

Demonstrations
Yes on demos in front of class/mates. This is very important. Practice whenever/where ever you can outside of class, such as hand washing when you're in the restroom or at the kitchen sink, bed rails safety and bed making after you get out of bed, personal care in the bathroom, range of motion (ROM) in the morning (this helps me wake up ), situational clean/dirty linen handling when you do laundry, etc. Practicing helped me become more confident and eager to teach the skill(s) to the rest of my class/mates. It also helped ease my nervousness by understanding that we're in a learning environment. If you make a mistake, it's OK, it'll be corrected, you'll learn and then you'll be better than before! :yelclap: Take a good deep breath, smile and go! :lttang:

What have you learned along this journey?
I look forward to wisdom posts like these. Thank you so much for your insights and advice. I started making myself a list of the CNA "Do's and Don'ts" in case I land a job after getting certified. Just have to wait to put them in practice. Congratulations on your 2 yr anniversary!
