Student RN - after two years of RN study can one challenge the LPN Exam?
I am considering going to NewBrunswick Community College/Saint John,Located in Saint John,NB Canada E2L 3V1. I am very intrested in there practical nursing program. It sounds dicant and espically for the cost of tuition wich is like 4 1/2 times less then the distance ed program that I picked out in Missouri. What i want to know does any on here reccomend this school? What all do you know about it? Dose this school and particaularly this program have a good reputation? And last but not least can nurses some one that is a lisenced practical nurse in Canada transfer or apply for lisensure in the USA with out having to do nursing school all over again? PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE WRITE BACK ASAP DEADLINES WITH STUDENT AID ARE TICKING AWAY AND I NEED TO MAKE SOME CHOICES SOON. I NEED YOU'R INPUT BADLY. PLEASE RESPOND.

Soon to be Student of Deaconess school of nursing...
I am a soon to be student of Deaconess School of Nursing,They offer web based training with little on campus visits (7 days total for the first year). It is very much an indep. study program. At DCN they expect you to find a clinical receptor. The encourage you to do it asap. So I am looking into possibly doing my 384 hours at a Mental health hospital (if the hospital would take me) because I am deffinetly intrested in possibly working in a psych ward after I get my LPN. I would really like to know what the duties of a LPN would be in a psych ward. Any other feedback would be nice too.

Hey guys. I do not live in MN but I am hoping to start a program at a school in MN very soon,Hopefully by the winter semester. I am wanting to meet other students enrolled at Northland Community and Technical College in East Grand Forks,MN. Any info at all that I can get on this school would be nice too. I have fully checked them out and I do know that they are accretited and all that. But I want to know what the instructors are like and all that...That is why I am hoping to meet some one that is or has gone to this school. I will read the message board often and I will take IM's here or on yahoo.

Pn-aas,please Read!
I am starting a school in Minnesota (Northland Community and Technical College other wise known as Northwest Technical College (NWTC). This school offers the book work part of the learning to be via distance learning. They require all the nessicary visits for the hands on skills training. And of course the clinicals. The ammount of clinical hours is like 5 times more then what the state requires. Is this what most schools require? They have both Practical Nursing diploma programs,As well as Practical Nursing-Asociate Applied Science degree programs. The PN diploma program is a 56 credit program and the PN-AAS degree program is 64 credits. The PN-AAS is part time and it lasts for 3 years,That is including the clinical part of the training. Is this a long time? How long are similar programs in IL? Is 15 grand to much for pn-aas training? This would include everything (books, state testing fees, uniforms and anything else needed for training). Thank you in advance to all the nice folks that take the time to read my post.

son has moved to chicago, looking for cna class
For him to get another cna lisence he does not have to take the course. He just has to pass a written test that is aprox 100 questions long,And pass a skills test that involves: Transfering a fake patient,Taking there tempature, pulse,Taking there blood pressure,Communication,Handwashing. And 2 additional tasks that are in a scienario. Like put Ms.Jones is 80 years old, blah blah blah she has adeam she needs ted socks put on and she needs to be fed lunch afterwords. Wich would be somthin like oranges, fruit. If you go to http://www.nurseaidetesting.com/info/faq.htm That should help. It has testing dates/times/locations,Info about the fees,And training courses if he is looking to brush up on his skills.
