  1. I received the same email and did not get in either ? I wonder how many people applied. @MicroB have you applied anywhere else or gotten in anywhere else?
  2. I did apply to the FNP program, the full time one. Did they tell you it would be at least Feb 1 before decisions would start to go out? @MicroB
  3. I had my interview in December and they told me they wouldn't be notifying anyone until at least Feb 1. My application still says in review as well. I'm nervously/anxiously waiting to hear also. I also wonder how many people applied and how many they actually interview and then how many get in. I can't wait to find out!!
  4. Hi! I'm just finishing up Block 4 at Gateway and while I can't speak on the exact specifics for MCC, I will fill you in on what I do know to be standard across the board. The scrubs for clinicals and lab days are the generic Maricopa Community College nursing program teal colored scrubs. They are found at certain scrubs stores across the valley and are usually $20-$25 per top and bottom. I have 2 sets of side mediums if anyone would want to buy them! They're in great shape and a great way to save money! It used to be that we could only wear white shoes and white long sleeved shirts under the scrubs but as of this summer they added we can wear black shirts under and black shoes (thank goodness!). The books are bought as a bundle, just a one time thing. It includes all the books you need for all 4 blocks!! Let me know if you have any other questions/concerns! Block 1 definitely has a lot more classroom and lab days and as you progress, you don't have as much classroom time and you have way more clinical time! For example, we took our final for block 4 on November 10 and are completely done with book work and lecture and studying (other than for nclex of course) !! :)
  5. Both my critical care and med/surg say application in review still. Fingers crossed they call for an interview! Good luck with your interviews! When are they scheduled for?
  6. Does anyone else's application status say anything else besides application received? I know they got tons of applications but I was hoping it would at least have gotten to the application in review point now a week later. lol
  7. I did! Now I'll be anxiously awaiting to hear back!! I know they tons of applications so it might take a bit but I'm still anxious for it!!
  8. I'm in the RN program at Gateway currently and we weren't even told about uniforms till school started cuz you don't even need to wear your scrubs till several weeks in in block 1. In terms of supplies, you need a stethoscope, watch with a second hand and then you'll purchase a tote with more supplies that you use in all 4 blocks
  9. I'm currently in block 2 at Gateway and it is fantastic! Very challenging and amazing teachers. Anywhere we go for clinical when people at the hospital hear we're from Gateway they rave on and on about the school and it is known for being a fantastic program and the students having a great foundation when they graduate. When we were in block 1 we were told Gateway had a 100% pass rate for nclex at that time so who knows if it still is now. If you have any questions about the program, feel free to ask!
  10. Hey! Yeah I'm currently in the day program. We were a late start for block 1 cuz we has the u of phx class start in January and then started block 1 mid February. So I have my last clinical on Wednesday actually and my pharmacology final on Tuesday. Email me at [email protected] and I will be more than happy to give tons more advice and answer and questions you may have :-)
  11. I'm currently in the CEP at gateway with university of Phoenix and I'm in block 1. My hesi score was a 92 and my GPA like a 3.1 and I got in. It really depends on who they have applying for that semester and how many spots they have for it. There's 24 of us in my class total and we're all a part of the concurrent program.
  12. I'm at gateway right now and my teachers highly suggest bringing your laptop to class everyday! I bring mine and my ipad to every lecture and lab so that way I don't have to drag the huge books around cuz I access all my textbooks on my ipad. It's been wonderful! Good luck with everything! Your in for an awesome whirlwind of a ride!
  13. I'm currently in the cohort with gateway and u of p. we had one class with u of p this January and now had a late start for block 1 that started last month. It's been great so far!
  14. Wow I meant e books not snooks. Darn auto correct on my ipad lol
  15. Clinicals*. Oh and in regard to the books, you can get the bundle of just the snooks and access codes so you can just have all your books on your ipad or you can get the book bundle with the actual textbooks (which are massive) and they include all the access codes plus the e books as well so you can put them on your ipad. It's only $300 more for that. That's what I got. I like have the actual bug textbooks to read at home and to study off of but then I only have to carry my ipad to class and wherever I go I can read cuz there is an insane amount of reading in block 1.
