  1. But you do not get to choose which one you are placed in and I think only a small amount of students are placed in the pacesetter.
  2. in the generic (traditional) program, you do clinical work all four semesters while doing four semesters of class work as well. But in the pacesetter program, those four semesters of class work are completed in the first three semesters and in the last semester the only thing you do is clinical work. In other words, the traditional program includes four semesters of class work and clinical work, and the pacesetter includes three semesters of class work and all the clinical work in the four semester.
  3. Go down to where it says School of Nursing and where it says bachelor of science select summer 2012 and after.
  4. This is what it says on my nursing orientation hold: Mandatory attendance at an Orientation Session is required before you will be allowed to Enroll in classes. Contact the School of Nursing Student Affairs Office for more information. (713) 500-2199 [email protected]
  5. Wow. That's old, but if I find those things I will send them.
  6. But one semester I took 4 classes which were 15 hours total (more than the usual 12) and got A's in all the classes so maybe that was enough, but who knows.
  7. I applied the earliest possible (which was September-august I think) and had my HESI done. And I was one of the first ones to get a green check (last name C), so I don't know if my early application had anything to do with it. And my class schedule has fluctuated but has been generally below full time so I'm not sure if your schedule is an indicator of being accepter or not. Here's how many classes I've taken each semester (no summers): 1, 3, 4, 3, 2, 3, 2, 4.
  8. Well, I did. I got an email from someone telling me I got accepted it came with two attachments. One with the 8 things you need to do before orientation (august 15) like background check, immunization, ect. and the other is a form that you have to send to the school. I don't know if you have to send the form even if you accepted the acceptance online.
  9. You might receive a letter before anything changes so I think it's still too early to give up.
  10. Just got an acceptance email. Have until april 27 to send intent form (to accept my acceptance) and lists 8 things to do before orientation (august 15) and first day of class (august 27).
  11. I thinks it's wierd that you don't get to choose between traditional or pacesetter. Many prefer one over the other but you dont get to decide; you don't really set your own pace, they do it for you.
  12. Still no luck logging in?
  13. Are you trying here? https://my.uth.tmc.edu

  15. I got the green check :w00t:
  16. I just got my transcript evaluation and they did not give me credit for AP history. I will find someone to talk to about this, but it might be another step backwards.
  17. Thanks Krique, you have put my mind at ease. You are right, I will do what I think is best and not worry about being accepted a second time so much.
  18. I need some opinion from you guys. If I get accepted this semester but if I reject it, do you think that I will have a good chance of getting accepted again in Spring? This is why I'm uncertain of what to do, because I'm not ready just yet to start, but it would suck if I reject acceptance and then I can't get accepted again.
  19. Sorry to hear that nici, best of luck to you. I myself, unfortunately, might have to give up my spot if I get it.
  20. Oh. That sounds like great news but, maybe it's just me, but why is everyone so anxious? Just let UTH do their work and wait for news whenever it comes. I'm in no rush and I'm pretty busy with other things, but that's just me. I can't wait to start the program but I don't see any changes coming up soon so I just let it be. I guess I'm not really worried about getting accepted or not. If I do, great, have to get ready. If I don't, then I'll try next semester and be better prepared. Again, that's just me.

  22. Last semester it took 2 and a half months so by that standard updates should come around April 1
  23. Why do you check so often? Do you know that nothing new will come up until April when they start accepting people? I check maybe two times a week, but what is the point? Everytime I check, I see the exact same thing: nothing new. Knowing that nothing will change anytime soon makes me forget about it. I personally like to read the nursing topics on the side.
  24. ktdidit - I'm glad that there are many people interested in the fields you are intersted in. I for one find emergency medicine to be difficult. Surgery is a good way to make a very good living. I know someone who has a masters in nursing in this fields that does very well for herself, and she doesn't work that much. I think it would be best for me to go into cardiac care since I hope to continue on to medical school to study cardiology. Are you supposed to choose a field when you start the program?
