  1. Hi @sunshine_star I am going full time, I scheduled all my classes on Tuesday so I can also have the availability to work. Im taking 510,520, 560, and 540 (in that order). Yes I did received a small packet in the mail a while ago. Congrats! Sorry it took me a while to respond
  2. @hjnurse yes Ive decided on CSULB. I registered for all my classes on Tuesday, so that will be helpful if I find a job. The only classes I did not register for was research, human diversity, and health assessment. What did you register for? Now I am really excited. Now I need to find an apartment.
  3. @hjnurse I plan on going full time since its only 2 years. Lots of nurses who I work with now say they wish they did it full time. I am moving to California from Chicago, so I am starting fresh but I am going to try to find a part time clinic job or weekend position. I have not heard much about the program, but from others I was told it was good. For clinical placements, I was told they have people that help with finding clinical sites. However, if there is a particular place or area you would like to work at, they would then allow you. I noticed that all the classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so that is very helpful and would work with your work schedule.
  4. Hi guys I was just wondering if any of those who were wait listed here from them yet?
  5. Hjnurse what classes do you plan on registering? I was just looking at some of the courses and it seems like its all on Tuesdays and Thursday's. Are you going full time?
  6. Everything was through email. It was confusing at first, but just email Alison and she can talk to you about your status. Good luck!!
  7. hi kaamsi, I have only been working as an RN for just a little under 2 years. Yes I do have my BSN. I am not from California, but I am planning to move depending on my fiance's job. I am currently wait listed at UCLA FNP and I got accepted to GWU FNP distance learning program. What have you heard about CSULB? I have only visited the campus once and spoke with one person there. I am not the best at writing either. :)
  8. I completed all my pre reqs. My health class just made the cut off. I think I will have to do a writing proficiency test. I am not positive. I haven't decided on 100% on CSULB. I am still waiting on one more school to make my final decision. But I plan on going full time. Ill keep you posted on my decision and what classes I end up attending.
  9. I spoke to Alison the Graduate Coordinator and she said if you are accepted to CSULB, then you are accepted to the program. You should be receiving a letter from the School of Nursing in a matter of weeks with more details. She said orientation starts August 21.
  10. Thanks for the info Ba13ygrl33 Good Luck!
  11. hjnurse I see what your saying. Im a bit confused. I see that I am admitted to CSULB. I received my registration date and financial aid info as well, but no official letter from the college of nursing. I was told we would not hear till the end of May, perhaps sooner from Alison.
  12. I'm still waiting to hear back. Congratulations. I haven't heard much but rumor is CSULB received a huge grant for the nursing program. Ive met either Graduate coordinator and told me classes are offered twice a week, you can probably schedule all your classes in one day if you wanted to. Clinical placements she told me we can pick our own sites but they do have recommendations. Hope this works.
  13. Congrats to all! I just got my letter and found out I'm #3 on the wait list for the FNP program. I hope I get in. I too am also a new grad. Do you know when you guys have to send in your decisions in by? Good luck everyone and don't give up!!
  14. Thanks for the info! Good luck everyone!
  15. I agree this is torture. I spoke to someone who went through the whole waiting game situation 2 years ago. She said the issue for her was due to budget cuts. I guess they were trying to figure out how many they can accept. She said there was an admittance list and OFFICIAL admittance list for her class.
