  1. Oops....doesn't look like I can send PM due to this statement I just received from allnurses "Members are required to have a minimum of 15 quality topics in order to use our Private Messaging (PM) System". I will keep looking for the FB page.
  2. Hi everyone! So this is my first time posting within this "MUSC BSN FALL 2014" post. I have been reading all the other posts over the years as well (spring 2014, fall 2013, spring 2013...etc). Well, I just found out that I got accepted as well!!! I think I am going to freak-out later. Anyways; mamagui....I tried to find the facebook page but could not...I am going to send you a private message so hopefully you can send me the link....I would like to join you if that is OK!!! Thanks!!! I look forward to meeting everyone!!
  3. hi 'kvisintine', i read a different post by you that you were an ex-engineer. i am currently an engineer working in afghanistan (live in sc when i'm not here) and i have been thinking of presuing a career as a crna. i too have done a lot of research like yourself before i go and make a final decision. i know i have some pre-req classes i have to take before i can do my accelerated bsn (16month program). work icu for 1 year. then do my crna program for the next 28 months. i was wondering how your progress is going? are you still happy with your decision? i know we can not anticipate everything in life so was there any unforeseen obstacles that you encountered? thanks for your feedback. - current engineer.
  4. thank you "flgardens", i do hold the following degrees: - associates degree for electrical engineering technology - bachlorers of science in electro-mechanical engineering technology some of the other programs recommended to me are “physician assistant” & “nurse practitioner” but i have not done as much research in these 2 professions. if you want to add any comments about these 2 professions or add a 3rd suggestion i’m open for suggestions…i have a lot of time to do research while out here in afghanistan. thank you!
  5. Hello everyone/anyone: I'm currently a male engineer who has been working in Afghanistan for the past year. I have been in the engineering 'world' for 7+ years (currently 30yo) and have known for awhile that I want to do something different. I have seriously been considering the accelerated BSN program at MUSC in Charleston SC (I live in Mount Pleasant SC when not in Afghanistan). I have already done all my research and know what pre-req classes are required, GPA is needed, essay needed, cost...etc. My main concern is this: I have ZERO medical experience....has anyone been excepted to the accelerated BSN program with no prior work experience? I am still in the infancy stages in dertermining if I will persue this career but I must say that I am REALLY interterested and your feed-back is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!
